Quick, easy, and healthy!
While I haven't made from scratch ice cream with this yet, I do use it almost every night and couldn't be happier. I just add in a container of low fat, no added sugar, fruit yogurt and stir until its frozen. This is now my favorite treat! It also works great with overripe bananas. Just toss them in and stir until they thicken up (which is especially good with a tablespoon of almond butter mixed in just before serving - microwave for a few seconds to make it extra runny and easy to combine). I highly recommend and bought myself a second one so there's always a frozen bowl ready to go. Perfect for making yummy, simple desserts that keep me on track with my dietary goals and restrictions!

My Husband loves Ice cream and if I can make it at home and know what ingredients are going into it, makes it worth while. Also helps that it only takes 10 min. I also think this will make a terrific grab bag gift.

I think the grandchildren will enjoy it. We have an ice cream machine, but this will be much easier to use, and small enough to allow kids to experiment with their own "recipes."

can I use this product with a soy milk ice cream recipe?
jeannine c on Apr 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can.
CAN YOU MAKE SORBET IN THIS?
A shopper on Jun 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not. It is just a really cold bowl that slowly freezes it's contents, whether cream or water-based. Perhaps the only concern would be if it is water-based it might freeze too quickly and adhere to the sides?
How much can you make at a time and how long do you have to stir? Thanks!
Anjanette G on May 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Without slopping too much over the edge while stirring, I can fit about a cup and a half in mine (but I tend to be very messy when I stir, so you might need a smaller margin). If I need to do two batches, I can usually do the first batch in about five or so minutes, stick it back in the freezer for about ten or fifteen minutes, and it will be cold enough to freeze the second batch. You will need to refreeze it for longer to get a third batch.

It's not ideal for large batches of ice cream--you will have to plan ahead to freeze small amounts serially--but it works well for a few servings of, for example, instant gratification frozen yogurt.
