A great product from a trust name.
I had been looking to replace our current coffeemaker and during my research, I ran across the KitchenAid Pour Over Coffee Brewer - and I am so glad I did!

Automatic pour over coffee brewers are becoming more and more popular, and KitchenAid certainly has a contender in this fight.

The brewer looks sharp on my counter and it produces an amazing pot of coffee. Features include being able to select the number of cups to brew, selecting the brew strength, and selecting a delay time to start the brew cycle.

The brewing process takes almost 11 minutes, but that is due to the pour over brewing process. Pour over brewing is a more time-intensive process, allowing the coffee to steep before sending it on to the carafe, but once you allow for the additional time, I think you'll be glad you did.

A great coffee pot
Love the coffee this pot makes! It's smooth never bitter. At first I had trouble pouring water in the reservoir, I kept spilling it. The small opening for the water reservoir is designed to make and keep the water hot. I finally mastered it. It looks great on my counter. Tip. I used a glass bottle filled it with water,it fit almost in the reservoir, perfect never spills the water??

Good Cup of Coffee
This is an excellent brewer and makes a rich cup of coffee. I would have given it 5 stars, except it just doesn't keep the coffee hot very long after brewing. Thinking of getting a thermal carafe to keep hot for the morning. Also 10 cup capacity would have been nice.

Beautifully designed. Very poor quality.
I chose this beautifully designed coffee maker based on the credibility of Kitchen Aid and the unit's stunning design.

Not a good judgement call on my behalf given the extraordinarily poor quality demonstrated by this purchase.

One week following my purchase, the printing on the control pad buttons wore off. Additionally, the Kitchen Aid logo washed off.

Given the quality/product integrity as evidenced by 1-week of limited usage (2 cups per day), I do not expect this high-priced unit to last until 2017.

I can overlook the cheap plastic and less-than-perfect problem with water sediment that never dries in the cup level indicator, but logos and control pads washing off is an irresponsible flaw and big check mark against purchasing this coffee maker and Kitchen Aid.

Don't buy it.

I cannot speak for the rest of this line, yet use your own judgement based on the performance as evidenced by this product in the Kitchen Aid line.

Looking for a "better coffee maker"
And,,,,,,,,,I still am. This coffee maker is frustrating. While it does make a good cup of coffee, if you drink it fast, as the unit only stays on for an hour. The pot drips when you pour; for automatic use you must push one button twice, then another button three times, each day you use the feature; and, those 8 cups brewed are pretty small cups, so if you use mugs, figure on a max of 4.

worked great for 6mnths, now doesnt function
Got this coffee maker as a gift and sad to report after 6mnths of use its not working. Worked great until it didnt, now its an expensive doorstop. I've unplugged the machine multiple times hoping it would reset itself with no luck. Tried to activate clean function, no response. Try to brew no response just all the lights flash and nothing happens, Very frustrating! Just ordered a french press, going old school, no electronics that break after 6mnths. Save your money!!

Carafe No!
Love the copy and the aroma. No longer using the unit because the carafe is poorly designed and leaks coffee when pouring no matter how careful you try to be gentle. Many other reviewers noted the poorly designed carafe. If kitchen aid ever redesigned the carafe I will gladly use it again. For now I have given up.

Pour over coffee
Coffee flavor is very good. We were surprised that the majority of what appears to be solid form is light weight plastic despite the faux 'stainless' appearance.

Warm Coffee
Kitchen Aid, you really disappointed me on this product. I won't even go into all the kitchen aid appliances I have and love and that is why I bought this coffee maker even though I read a few reviews saying the coffee maker has it problems. It makes a great tasting cup of coffee but you have to microwave every cup before you drink it because it is either just warm or cool. If you use the recommended amount of coffee in the basket it normally will flow over and you have a mess and that was with course ground beans. After 7 days of frustration I returned it and bought another coffee maker. I was very disappointed in the product.

For a full pot, how long is the brewing cycle?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I just bought this device, brought it home, and set it up. I ran a fresh pot of water through it and now have just completed a full pot (8 cups) of coffee. For a full pot of medium roast it took 10 minutes 45 seconds from the time I pressed 'Brew' to the time it beeped and told me to "Enjoy."

I measured the manufacturer's recommendation of 68 grams of coffee of regular Folgers ground coffee. I must say - this is a very good cup of coffee! I think I'll be very pleased with this purchase.
How hot does it heat too, does it do just 4 cups, how long does the hot plate stay on to keep coffee warm, is there an automatic time it goes off?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It gets up to the 200° range. It makes 2-8 5oz cups of coffee. The warming plate stays on for an hour, then shuts off.
where is it made? I would love to buy a coffee maker that is made in the USA

is there a timer?
A shopper on Mar 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes. You set the time and can set the coffee maker to start at any time.
does this coffee maker come with a stainless steel carafe?
A shopper on Sep 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Nope...just the glass one shown in the picture. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because coffe only stays heated for an hour. Direction booklet suggests you drink the coffee within 30 minutes, but not very many people do that, I'm sure. I plan on getting an insulated carafe to pour the coffee into to keep it hotter, longer. It makes a rich-tasting cup of coffe, though, for those of us who like their coffee to taste like coffee.
Can the brew temp be adjusted or is it locked to 200 degrees?
A shopper on Sep 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The temperature is locked. Adjustments are on the water flow to control the flavor (bold, etc.).

Is this machine easy to clean?
Christine L on Mar 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi Christine; I've owned this machine a couple of months and have cleaned it just once. Here's how I cleaned it (because I did not want to use those tablets of chemicals that are recommended by the owner's manual that comes with the machine): I poured a full pitcher (the one that comes with the machine) of plain, white vinegar into the water reservoir and ran it through a brew cycle. After that was completed, I ran about 4 additional full pitchers of plain water through the machine to clean out any vinegar residue. It was recommended to do this once monthly. Though its filtered, we have very hard water here and that cleaning method seems to have worked just fine. Thanks for the reminder--time to do it again.
After the coffee is brewed, the grounds have a deep depression in the middle. Is this normal for this coffee maker?
Joyce U on Jan 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is normal. All the coffee grounds should be wet. The coffee is funnelled down to a point before it goes into the carafe. I hope this helps.
How long is the hot plate on for?
A shopper on Nov 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I believe it is on for an hour after brewing. BTW, it makes a great cup of coffee and we are very picky about our Joe.
Are all the interior parts (filter, filter bin, water tub, tubing) stainless, or aluminum/plastic?
A shopper on Mar 28, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The interior parts are plastic, as is most of the exterior (even though it looks stainless). The only metal on the exterior is where the filter basket drops in and two strips down the sides of the unit (which are unseen in the front view photo).
do you have to lift the top to add water?
A shopper on Feb 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, it has a little panel, that slides back and then pour water in the top
Why is the black one less money?
A shopper on Mar 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is a black one that is $150, but it's the "basic" one - I wondered this as well. This model come sin both stainless and black and they are both the same price.
I am looking for a coffee maker that makes only two cups?
A shopper on Oct 10, 2015

I love this coffee pot,it makes very good coffee. Their is a problem,it leaks, what should I do?
theresa t on Dec 30, 2015

can I use a thermal carafe with this machine?
Dee E on Aug 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No. A thermal carafe isn't available & it shouldn't be used with a carafe other than the one provided.
I love the pot but there is one thing that bothers me I set the machine to make two cups and it always drips for four cups. What can I do about that?
theresa t on Jul 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I suggest trying to descale the machine or maybe even change the consistency of your grinds. If that doesn't correct the problem, it may be best to troubleshoot with KitchenAid Customer Service.
