I had used a similar pot bought at a crafts fair and loved it. However, it got broken and I missed the convenience of spreadable butter. I hope this is a stronger ceramic.

i like the idea of a pot for soft butter rather than a traditional butter dish.

Used to have a butter holder like this and loved it. Lost it during a move and when I saw one by Emile Henry, it was a no brainer. Great design and great brand.

The original "butter bell" was so pretty but no longer available so this was the only one I found with the concept of keeping butter soft without perishing quickly.

My mother in law gave me one of these many years ago. It has lasted decades with daily use. It is such a lovely thing to have room temperature butter available all the time, yet it doesn't spoil! This is a gift for my daughter; it was on her wedding registry.

My daughter likes spreadable butter and I wanted something that would keep the butter that way.

I've been looking for a butter pot to replace one I lost in a fire. I've really missed having soft butter ready. This pot sounds wonderful. Can't wait to use it.

Have been looking for a butter bell.

I packed the butter into the lid and put the cold water on the bottom. However, as we used the butter part of the soft butter fell into the bottom where the water was. So the question is how many sticks of butter do you pack in the lid ? I thought the water was in the bottom to hold the seal and keep the butter frush.

BEST ANSWER: Hi
... you need to pack the butter in it pretty heavy ... as you use the butter, make sure you keep pressing the butter to the sides so not too much butter is just hanging in mid air so to speak, if it drops in the water, I pick it out and use the butter, throw away the water and refill with fresh water ...

Cheers,
Ron.
I am confused as to how this works? Load the butter into the bell, add water, and then flip the bell to keep it soft. Okay. Then as you use the butter, do you keep filling the bell to keep the surface of the bbuuter still in the water? Or do you refill at half way through? Or do you wait until you use all the butter and then refill? Sorry if it is a dumb question, but I don’t get the concept.

BEST ANSWER: How we use this in our house is that we fill it with butter and water. As the butter is used we refill it, but it doesn't need to be refilled right away, we change the water every other day or so. My friends who use it mostly wait until all the butter is out and then wash and refill. I think all of your questions are super dependent on how much better does your family use. If you are using 5-6 sticks of butter a week this would be a hassle to use. We are using less then 1 stick of butter a week, mostly for cooking so we refill as needed. The key to me would be to change the water and to keep the water at the right height which is NOT a lot of water. We know lots of people to use these and the advantage is soft ready to go butter all the time!
