Not what it used to be
I'm a die hard fan of tagine cooking. This crockery is basically my go to 'pan' for any stove top endeavour. Since I use it so much I normally have to replace it every so often. This version of the 3.7 qt tagine can't hold a candle to its predecessor. The crockery seems thinner and the shape is such that you don't have as much real estate on the burner. Sadly Emile Henry has taken steps to save production $$$ resulting in a woefully inferior product.

Best tagine available
Love this tagine. Any tagine, if used properly, will create delicious and tender stews. The advantage of this one is that you don't need a heat diffuser and clean up is incredibly simple.

I've been looking a various tagines for a while and because it was on sale with free shipping, I decided to purchase today. I've already ordered a couple of cookbooks for the tagine, so I'm hoping I'll be inspired to do a bit more cooking. Cooking for one can be a drag.

I have been using a much smaller version of this type cookware and wanted to cook a whole meal, rather than piece meal items, for dinner. I didn't know what they were called until my daughter enlightened me. I searched the internet and found your beautiful cookware, which can be used in the oven, microwave or stove top and can also go into the freezer. Can't wait to use it!

The tagine makes dinners fast, delicious and the tagine is so convenient. We use it at least 4 times a week. We are ordering the larger one this time for our summer home in Maine. We entertain a lot and am looking forward to many, many wonderful dinners using the tagine!

were can i buy the new steam insert for a 3.7 quart tagine ?
bob smith on Apr 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm not seeing anywhere online that sells the steam insert separately, so I would contact the manufacturer directly.
Does the tagine lid have a hole for steam release?
A shopper on Jan 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No hole. You have to set the lid askew to release the steam.
How many does this tangible serve?
A shopper on Jan 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It can usually serve 6-8 people depending on their appetite and the amount you cook!

Everything I make in it turns out delicious and juicy!

Enjoy!
How many people does 3.7 quarts serve?
A shopper on Aug 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 3.7 qt Emile Henry Tagine, will easily serve 8 and the depth allows for layering meats or vegetables to take advantage of the size. I am very happy with mine.
Can you sear meat in this pot?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not really. You need high temps for than. The tagine is not designed to cook at high temperatures. I make a lot of chicken tangines. I brown the chicken at medium heat and after adding the other ingredients, I turn the heat even lower. Think of the tagine as being somewhat delicate around high heat. I never put it on a hot element with nothing in it to warm up. Always put your oil or butter in first over moderate heat.
I have a glass electric stove. The 3.7 qt. emile henry tagine seems to scratch the glass. What do I do?
A shopper on Oct 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I only have gas, but I wouldn't move the Tagine once I put it on the glass burner. Lift up on the Tagine to put it off the glass if you want to check it. I love mine, by the way. Hope this helps.
