    Makes a great steak!
I used the Staub Pure Grill to make a steak. I left quite a bit of fat on the steak to keep it moist and the raised grill lines helped that excess fat drip away from the steak while it cooked. It turned out perfectly juicy with golden grill lines on it.

As a Sur La Table employee, I am always looking for convenience when it comes to cookware. This grill isn't too heavy, making it relatively easy to maneuver and clean. It was a little tricky to clean between the raised grill lines, but the non-stick surface helps keep food from sticking. I chose to hand-wash the grill, but it may be easier to clean in the dishwasher.

Staub Grill Pans are the best
I was searching for a gift and was so happy to see that Staub came out with this 10.5" grill pan. The quality is unparalleled! The cast iron heats up quickly and evenly, but the enamel coating make cleanup easy when you can put it in the dishwasher.

Nice grill pan that's not too big or too heavy
I wanted a grill pan I could use on a radiant heat glass top electric stove. That eliminated the anodized aluminum grill pans since they are stamped, so their bottoms are rippled rather than flat. I also didn't want the maintenance of traditional cast iron or the super heavy weight of these usually large pans, though their bottoms are flat rather than rippled. Then I found the Staub 10" grill pan which is smaller and so lighter in weight than other grill pans, plus the two loop handles make it super easy to maneuver. The enamel coating on the exterior and the interior surfaces means no maintenance but you still have the advantages of cast iron - the pans gets hot and stays hot after you add the meat or veggies. Cooks well and predictably. Clean up isn't that hard in my experience - I just soak when the pan when it has cooled and wash it later. The enameled surface doesn't mind the soaking and you don't have to worry about rust. I pretty much love this grill pan!

Perfect for just the two of us
Hard to believe but this grill pan really makes those nice grill marks. Grills steaks and pork chops in minutes. I don't put mine in the dishwasher, I just wash it by hand. Let it cool, pour dishwashing liquid, & water, wash it the next day. Would highly recommend it.

    Great grill pan!
Giving it four out of five stars because of the cleaning, although if I spray it with a release agent first, then soak it after using it with soap and hot water, it seems to clean up pretty good. I have this pan with the glass top that comes with another model. That top also steams and keeps splatters from happening. I start off with grilling meat, fish, or chicken on a med-high heat with some spray on oil, then once turned, cover it and continue to cook for a shorter period of time. Because of the cast iron, it carries the heat evenly and gives good grill marks. I would definitely recommend this pan to anyone.

extremely tedious to clean and you must use a spray shield when using it or your cook top will become fility

Beautiful pan to add to my collection. Cast iron cooking is so efficient and creates better flavor than using an ordinary pan. Multi-functional to use as a grill OR a steam grill. The even heat conductivity makes cooking healthy meat or veggies recipes faster than using my electric “indoor griller”. Food has turned out fantastic every time. Keeps food warm for a long time. Without the lid it is a perfect size for panini’s as well. Super easy to clean. Perfect for my glass top stove. While I am still experimenting with recipes, this little grill pan is sturdy and durable, totally worth the price! A Keeper!!!!

    Love Staub products!
This is another great Staub product. I have used it to grill corn, shrimp and zucchini and everything has come out perfectly. I haven't had terrible cleaning problems that I have read from other reviews. I highly recommend it!

I used this for flat iron steak. Best stove-top steak I have ever had, with handsome grill marks. Cleaned up easily. Really good buy.

    Very hard to clean
I found this pan very hard to clean. I did put in the dishwasher and that worked OK, but left cooking stuff on there. I ended up going back to the store for advice and they helped me get it clean, but then said they wouldn't recommend putting it in the dishwasher.
I got the version with the lid, because I thought I could steam while grilling, and it cooked the meat really fast, to the point it was almost too done.
I think this pan is a lot of hype, but doesn't deliver.

I know the quality of Staub products from owning others. Other reviews on this item point out the depth of the grill ridges as being higher than others, so the fat has plenty of room to drip off away from meat being grilled. That was a strong selling feature for me plus the reduced price. (Wish It were red instead of black, but it is doable! 😉)

How does the pure grill differ from the stub steam grill? Besides the pan size and the steam grill has a lid

    Staub Pure Grill, 10.5
    Staub Pure Grill, 10.5"
    Staub Steam Grill, 12
    Staub Steam Grill, 12"
BEST ANSWER: Those are the only differences.
What is the best way to clean it ?
    A shopper on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Allow pan to cool before washing.
    Dishwasher safe.
Stubborn stains can be removed by soaking your pot for a few minutes in hot soapy water.
    Completely dry pan before storing.
Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads, harsh detergents, bleach or abrasive cleaners.
Can this be used on a glass top electric stove?
    Susan M on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but be sure to lift & not drag it across the surface.
Is this pan strictly for indoor use? Can it be used on an outdoor gas BBQ grill without damaging it?
    Linda B on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This pan has a beautiful finish on it and I would never use it OD on a gas BBQ .. there are other, better suited cast iron pans that I use outdoors:
    How much does it weigh?
    A shopper on Apr 28, 2015
    BEST ANSWER: 6lbs.
Does this pan come with a lid?
    Alexandria P on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: you can buy the version with or without lid. I bought without lid 26 cm diameter and I am very satisfied. Dont need a lid. The version with lid is much more expensive.
I'd like to get this but doesn't stove-top grilling in a pan like this spatter all over the kitchen stove and floor?
    A shopper on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Very little; however, I did notice oil residue on the overhead Cabinets door; so a cover is recommended; you may not have this issue, if your exhaust fan vents to the Outdoor, which mine does not!.
I have questions about the different finishes available on the grill pan. Will the matte black or the colored finish hold up better? Is there any difference in how they cook?
    Beth S on May 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Both will hold up very well, as they're both enamel. That being said, I don't think one is likely to hold up better than the other.
The black matte enamel is likely to brown or sear foods better, as the surface is rough & food will bond to it better. It can also be seasoned in favor of washing so that it becomes nonstick over time. This cannot be done with the porcelain enamel.
Can this pan go into the oven also?
    A shopper on Apr 27, 2015
    BEST ANSWER: Yes, it can.
I'm torn between getting the 10.5" and the 12" pan. Don't want both, so would you recommend getting the larger pan with the lid because of the option of the lid and it's basically 2 pans in one with the steaming effect? Does anybody have both and which one do they use the most?
    Roxann S on Jun 21, 2015
    Staub Pure Grill, 10.5
    Staub Pure Grill, 10.5"
    Staub Steam Grill, 12
    Staub Steam Grill, 12"
BEST ANSWER: In all honesty, I would get the 12" steam grill! Both pans are the same, can both go into the oven up to 500 degrees and both can go onto the cooktop. The 12" is bigger than the 10" and you cannot make a pan grow. And the lid give you options. If money is not the option, I would go with the 12" pan. Love that you can put the gill pan in the oven and get it searing hot and then sear cook a steak and get the outside cooked and leave the center warm and not soooo cooked if you dont want. Enjoy!!
Tough question; how would it compare to the similar LeCreuset bistro grill product?
    A shopper on Aug 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have both the LeCreuset grill and this pan. I like this pan because the ridges are higher and you can get a really nice sear with the pan and it doesn't leave the meat sitting in any of the oil or fat because the ridges are set high.
What is the interior dimensions vs the exterior dimensions? I am trying to scale an aftermarket glass top to this pan. Thank you.
    A shopper on May 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The interior is 10".
Do I have to season it after washing?

BEST ANSWER: No. i just wash it with soap and water. its coated
Can this go under the oven broiler?
    Hala B on May 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes It is for that reason I purchased this product. I love salmon and fresh fish so this pan is perfect for par grilling the fish and then finishing it off under the broiler. No longer need a frying pan plus a dish for the oven. Best of all it looks great on the table so from stove to oven to the table
Can this pan go in the oven?
    Connie J on Apr 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why it couldn't go in the oven, but I wouldn't put it in the oven to cook something. I might move it to the oven just to keep something warm after I had finished cooking it.
Can it be use on glass top stove?

Is there a lid that will fit my 10.5 Staub grill pan?
    A shopper on Aug 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I use another lid from a saute pan...10.5 saute pan lid fits perfectly. Really love my Staub grill but like to steam fish to finish off the cooking so fish stays really moist. I didn't see a lid that you could buy with the pan so like every good cook I improvised!
Is there a Staub lid that fits the Staub Pure Grill, 10.5" pan?
    A shopper on Apr 29, 2016
    BEST ANSWER: No, there isn't.
Can someone tell me if the pan is heavy??? I have arthritis in both hands and I find it hard
now to lift heavy pans? Thank you
    A shopper on Jun 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The pan weighs about 4 lbs. I use it on my electric stove. As long as you do not slide it across the stove it's fine. Love it. I have cooked hamburgers, steak on it so far. Let it cool before washing. I found that using the Sponges with the groves in it, it cleans up nice.dry it well before putting away. All in all it's great.
Should I use the Staub grill pan or Le Creuset square grill pan? How do they compare?
    A shopper on Oct 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I prefer the round pan because it fits my burner so there is even heat distribution across the pan. I often braise in this pan an finish the cooking in the oven which this pan handles exceptionally well. I have le creuset for most of my cookware because of their quality and lifetime warranty but I love pan.
What happenes when your cast iron gets a rust spot how do you get it off?
    A shopper on Jun 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use steel wool for cleaning cast iron. That should get rid of rust spot. I never use soap to clean, just steel wool. After cleaning I dry and then rub down with cooking oil using a paper towel.
Can it be used on grill?
    A shopper on Jun 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't see why not. I have not personally used on a grill
Does the 12 inch grill pan weigh 12 lbs with lid or just the pan at 12 lbs?
    Joann M on Jun 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: i just picked it up from the sink as I used it this evening and it does not weigh that much. I would estimate 5 pounds no lid. Hope this helps.
Is this grill suitable to use on an Aga or Rayburn?
    A shopper on May 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't know about an AGA or a Rayburn, but it is safe for an induction, gas and a glass cook top and my daughter has used it on her charcoal grill.
This is a great pan! I love mine!
Is this Ian ok to use in induction cooktop?
    Debbie M on May 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is. I purchased this pan as a gift for my sister for her new home. She has an induction cooktop and I personally have used this pan on her cooktop. One hint: let the pan heat slowly at a medium temperature, not at high heat. Clean-up will be much easier!
Can this pan be used on a glass top burner stove without damaging the burners? I have read you should not use a cast iron pan on a glass top, and was wondering if the enamel coating avoids that prohibition.
    A shopper on Oct 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This is similar to a cast iron, I'm not sure if it would scratch your top or not. Glass tops need perfectly flat pans to cook well (its why I dislike them, but that is another matter). The enamel would likely protect the glass from scratching. I'd go to a store and take a look at them to double check.
Can it be used on a nuwave?
    Elaine L on Aug 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If you're talking about a NuWave PIC then my guess would be yes--as long as the Staub grill is not bigger than the NuWave PIC cooking surface. There are pictures at the above URL showing people using grill pans on the NuWave PIC.
    What does pan weigh?
    A shopper on Jan 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I found the weight on another site. The weight is 6 pounds.
    What is weight of grill?
    A shopper on Jun 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's about 5 pounds, and the nicest most gorgeous grill pan you'll ever get!!
Can this be used on induction cooking surface?
    A shopper on Jul 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is induction compatible.
