Stainless pot for multi cooker
This pot replaces the original insert to use for browning or if you are concerned with chemicals from the coating on the original pot. It is a perfect fit and I am unsure why the cooker isn't offered for sale with either pot.

Must-have!
Well-made. Sturdy. It allows you to sear meat perfectly prior to pressure cooking or using the crockpot function. This is a fantastic thing to have to use with the Fagor multi cooker. Cleans up easily in the dishwasher.

Great accessory for the cooker
I love having the stainless insert to my cooker.
The enamel one it came with is nice but I really prefer to use stainless.

It's nice to have an extra for the times the other is in use/full at the same time (cooking one thing right after the other, or no time to clean up the first).

When would you use the stainless steel pot instead of the crock that comes with the cooker? Are there foods where the stainless steel would be preferred?

Fagor Lux Multicooker Stainless Steel Insert

BEST ANSWER: Stainless steel is typically preferred when searing cuts of meat. Additionally, some people simply prefer stainless steel cookware over nonstick, as it typically lasts longer.

Is the insert flat across the bottom or does it dome up in the middle? I'm deciding between the Fagor and the Instant Pot, and reviews of Instant Pot inserts indicate the bottom is domed so that when you are searing/ sauteeing the oil pools only around the outer edge of the bottom instead of sitting evenly across the bottom. I would like to choose the unit for which I can buy flat-bottomed inserts.
BEST ANSWER: The bottom of the pot is flat. Inside the pressure cooker is a little knob that is used to agitate the pot when set on the risotto setting. But everything sits flat. I haven't any problem with pooling around the edge.

What are the dimensions of this insert? (I am looking for something that will fit inside my 6qt for pot-in-pot cooking.)
BEST ANSWER: This insert itself is a 6 quart size, so it will not fit inside the 6 qt regular insert. they are the same dimensions, just different materials. This insert is made to take the place of the nonstick insert that is shipped with the unit.

Fagor Lux Multicooker Stainless Steel Insert

BEST ANSWER: Amy, the Fagor LUX comes with the stainless steel pot insert. Having a second pot, in my opinion, is a wise purchase. Match the size of the insert with the capacity of your Fagor LUX. Happy cooking.

Is the stainless steel insert BPA-free?
So you have to get the six quart to get the stainless steel insert?
BEST ANSWER: The 6 quart comes with a nonstick insert...it is perfectly fine, although I ordered the stainless one on the recommendation of my son-in-law. They both work fine, but browning seems better in the nonstick.

Can someone please tell me if this insert will fit the Cuisinart cpc600 6qt electric pressure cooker? I have the original non-stick pot but would like to replace it with a stainless steel pot insert. 6qt size
BEST ANSWER: I honestly have no clue. My suggestion would be to go to a store. If they have both items you'd be able to check. If they don't, one of the salespeople may know. I've found the staff to be very knowledgeable and helpful. Good luck.
