Love All my Lekue Products EXCEPT This One
Tried all kinds of different settings. Steel cut were the worst, but even rolled oats turn out terrible...either not done enough or totally overcooked. Steel cut boiled over the top and I had to throw out the oats. Plus the serving size is super small. They need to go back to the design drawing board with this one.

Work quite well
For those who have a boil over problem, try using power 8. Just like with other Lekue products which are designed for European microwaves which aren’t as powerful as Americans micros, all lekue products work better with the lower power. I love this cooker especially after I started using lower power. Works good for grits also.

Use this neary every day!
These are the greatest! I have my without raisins and my husband can have his with raisins! Just use the amount of water and oats on the oatmeal box (I use old fashioned, 3-minute), put in microwave and cook for the 3 minutes as directed. Important to use a little less power to avoid boiling over. These are made in Spain and microwaves are not as powerful as ours. I select "8" power and oatmeal comes out perfect every time. Use tap water - not hot. Love, love these oatmeal bowls. I have given as gifts. Everyone is delighted. Order one!

Messy oatmeal-very embarrassing
My oatmeal boiled over all over the place. Don't know how to control the thing. It actually came up over the red top and onto the plate below. very unpleasant

I'm back to having oatmeal in the morning but I don't like to have to stand at the stove with it. I also don't like the instant ones - too sweet!

We had such a good experience with the othe products of this manufacturer that we just had to try. We still prefer to prepare our oatmeal in a weeks supply by cooking on the stove slowly but this is great if we have used our supply and need the cereal for just one more day!

I have two of these already and like them so much, I want to give them to other family members.
Carolyn B on Feb 3, 2016
This is a fantastic oatmeal maker. It is made in Spain so Americans have to adjust down the cooking power of microwave for absolutely perfect results with our high powered microwaves. I use "8" power out of 10 on mine. Perfect everytime. My husband likes raisins. I don't. You can make your oatmeal like you want! I use regular oatmeal and cook for 3 minutes and then let sit for a few minutes. Delicious. The best!

Can you use with steel cut oatmeal?
A shopper on Feb 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Well... We have had much success using this nice Lekue bowl and cover for "old-fashioned" oatmeal. BUT, steel cut oatmeal takes up to 30 minutes of simmering. Instead, you might try the overnight method for steel cut oatmeal (google it). The night before you bring the ingredients to a boil, then turn off the heat and cover the pot. In the morning, you bring it back to a simmer, adding a bit more liquid if desired. It seems like the Lekue oatmeal bowl & cover would be perfect for simmering the par-cooked steel cut oatmeal in the microwave for 5 minutes. Hope this helps!
