A delectable, dunkable doughnut mix from Baked for Sur la Table.

Description

With top-notch ingredients and a love for wonderful simplicity, the geniuses behind New York City’s Baked were able to recreate the doughnut of their dreams in this mix. Completely pure with a zing of hearty cinnamon, each one is covered in a perfectly balanced ratio of cinnamon to sugar for a pleasing texture. This is the kind of doughnut that begs to be dunked in a mug of hot coffee.

Baked NYC specializes in (even obsesses about) all manner of baking Americana. Baked started as a classic American bakery and café based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where they create a vast array of cakes, cookies, pies, tarts, muffins, scones, bars, brownies and even more sweet treats. Makes 12 doughnuts

In addition to the mix, you will need:
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • ⅔ cup buttermilk, room temperature

Which Doughnuts pan should I get for this mix? It says it will make 12 doughnuts. Is that regular size or mini size. I see two doughnut pan on your site. One is large that has space for 6 and the other is mini doughnut pan that has space for 12. Can you help me select the right doughnut pan for this as well.

BEST ANSWER: I would go with the mini pan, although I had some trouble making them. If you overmix the batter it will be too viscous. You want the batter to be liquid in consistency, or it will be more like cake in texture. Also, be sure not to overfill them, as the hole will effectively disappear when baked.
