Good value, nice weight
You might guess All-Clad would make a laudable non-stick skillet and you would be right. These are reassuringly heavy. I notice they are slower to heat but that is a fair compensation for not having the hot spots that are common on lesser pans. These have a somewhat larger usable cooking surface than similar sized pans with wide tapers on the sides - a plus.

Enjoying These Pans
These just arrived so only used a couple times but really like the quality. They are heavy and substantial and like the high sides.

5 star skillets
8 & 10 inch All Clad HA1 skillets are a great size and the non stick finish is flawless one doesn't need to use any oil . Clean up is so easy. A rinse of soapy water and you are done . The long handle keeps the heat away from your grip and makes handling the skillet easy. No pot holder required

Get'em! They are worth every penny multiplied!
Very pleased, haven't had new skillets in a long time, forgot how good new ones are. It is pleasure to pan fry, sauté, and poach. All Clad is excellent, they stand behind their products and make good on their promises. Yes, I would recommend them!

I have been thrilled with the 8 & 10" nonstick skillets that I recently purchased from you. Food just slides out of the pans. I mainly purchased them because they can be cleaned in the dishwasher. Well worth the $

Love it. No hot spots cleans extremely easy with a little soap and warm water, even just with a paper towel depending on what you make.

Impressive Quality for a Non-Stick Skillet
Impressive quality skillet(s), heavy, heat up quickly, and clean easily. Excellent for omelets, fish and anything that is delicate. Recommend not using the dishwasher, since it's so easy to clean, in order maintain the quality and performance of these skillets for a long time. If you are new to All-Clad, I would say that the handles will not be a problem with time and you'll get used to them.
I do have an issue, and it is an issue, and it is that these skillets do scratch my glass cook top, and I have to polish with "Weiman polish" to remove them or not to appear as much. The bottom is a little rough and the outside Aluminum ring is causing the scratches, I believe.
I would definitely recommend this 8 & 10 inch HA1 Nonstick All-Clad set.
Happy cooking.

Do these skillets have a nonstick interior or are they hard anodized interior?
Trish A on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The interior surface is nonstick. I still add a little oil to the pan, depending on what I'm cooking. The base is stainless steel, and the sides of the pan are hard anodized aluminum.
Is the nonstick chemical PTFE-free?
Jacquie M on Oct 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It is PFOA-free nonstick coating which is ideal for healthy, low-fat cooking with easy cleanup.
Can you get lids for the 8" and 10" skillets?
A shopper on Aug 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We do not carry lids individually for these skillets.
Can stainless steel utensils be used?
A shopper on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would not use stainless steel utensils on my set. Nothing ever sticks so the heat resistance plastic utensils work great for me.
What is the non-stick material made of if it's not PFOA? Is this non-stick material safe?
A shopper on Dec 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: According to All Clad product description, the interior surface is a bonded three-layer nonstick system that delivers unparalleled release, scratch resistance and durability and it is a PFOA-free nonstick coating which is ideal for healthy, low-fat cooking with easy cleanup.
What size are the pans?
A shopper on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: they are 8" and 10 "
Is this product produced in the USA?
A shopper on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No. In the "Specifications" section of the online Sur La Table ad for these skillets it states that they are made in China.
How heavy are these pans? Are they too heavy for a much older person?
terry s on Aug 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am in my 40's, accustomed to heavy pans and I lift weights. I found these pans a terrible combination of quite heavy AND with a very painful handle. I just wrote a review to say I loved the pan itself but the handle makes it nearly unusable. I bought a padded handle mitt and even with that it still hurts too much to use. I would not recommend it, for anyone.
is the NONSTICK FINISH the same used in both the HA1 and the D5 lines?
A shopper on Nov 19, 2016
All-Clad HA1 Nonstick Skillets, 8
All-Clad HA1 Nonstick Skillets, 8" and 10" Set
All-Clad d5 Brushed Stainless Steel Nonstick Skillet
All-Clad d5 Brushed Stainless Steel Nonstick Skillet
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure how they compare, however I love the HA1 set. It's durable (and forgiving that I'm not following the care instructions to the letter). They proved to be the go to pans for many meals.
What lids fit best?!
Jean L on Aug 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: On the larger skillet, any 10 lid from any of your frying pans will fit. The 8 "pan is a little harder. A 2 quart sauce pan lid will be too small. I have a 2 1/2 quart sauce pan whose lid fits perfectly. I also use a plastic lid if the other one is dirty. That works well unless you have something that is higher that the edges of the pan.
Is the non stick surface ruined if you use butter or olive oil? This happened with a couple of other pans I purchased from Sur La Table
Blanca U on Mar 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not at all. The instructions say before first use to wash with warm soapy water & dry, then oil the surface to condition it. I've been using my skillets for 8 months, hand wash only, no metal utensils, & they're still like new. I bought a Sur La Table brand nonstick skillet 2 or 3 years ago & the nonstick began to really stick after a few months. All-Clad is simply the Cadillac of cookware
Can you use regular cooking utensils? Or, must you use non-stick utensils only?
A shopper on Nov 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend non-stick utensils; however, we have used metal utensils gently. I would not recommend heavy whisking with metal, I have a coated whisk (for sauces) that I use instead. We are very happy with the non-stick surface and I have not seen any scratching. Hope that helps PS They are wonderful durable skillets, I even made crepes with them and they came out easily!
Does it work on ceramic stove tops?
Comnie S on Apr 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes! I have a ceramic halogen cooktop and they work great. I love my non-stick HA1, and no flaking or weird chemicals in your food. The price is great, too!
Do I need to use oil or butter, specifically with eggs or pancakes?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have been very happy with these pans. I did season them by rubbing a little olive oil on them before I used them, and I occasionally repeat this. But I never use oil or better routinely for eggs or pancakes. They slide right out.
Can you heat these pans up past medium on the stove top without causing damage to the "non-stick?
A shopper on Jul 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use high heat (I have propane) for a short time to bring liquids to a boil & cook at medium high heat at times. I've had my HA1 set for over a year & no problems with heat damage. I use cast iron for searing meats because cast iron is best for that task. Even though the HA1 is great, nonstick cookware cannot sear like cast iron & could incur damage at searing temperatures. Hope this helps. :)
Can they go in oven?
A shopper on Nov 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but just for browning. Non stick should not be used at high temperatures because it can affect the non stick surface.
Will these work on an induction cooktop?
A shopper on Nov 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I bought them & use them on my induction cooktop all the time.
