What is the thickness of the steel? The description says quarter-inch but the dimensions (under specs) say 0.4".
A shopper on Jun 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The original baking steel (not the griddle) is 1/4”. The baking steel griddles are 3/8” (per the manufacturer website).
The description says it can be used as a griddle on conventional and induction stove tops. Can you use on a gas stovetop?
Hayley C on Aug 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can.
I don't know much about these, but the photos between new and used appear as though there is some breaking in or seasoning to be done with a new steel. What can you tell me about this? It won't corrode or rust?
A shopper on Jul 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Similar to carbon steel or cast iron, this baking steel should be seasoned regularly. By doing so, the steel will resist corrosion as well as become naturally nonstick over time.
Can you slice the pizza, when done , on the steel?
Mary K on Jun 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Cutting on the steel isn't recommended.
