So beautiful and all Staub!
My cocotte arrived today - just gorgeous. I used it tonight - nothing fancy: baked beans - but the color and shape made it seem like something special.

The lid does not have the chistera spikes, despite what the description says. That is fine with me - the gently curved lid without spikes feels more authentic for the piece. I was surprised Staub and SLT would do something out of keeping with the vintage of the cocotte.

Very pleased with my purchase. It's a nice addition to my Staub collection and feels right at home with the heritage oval cocotte from last year.

I'm glad that more pieces are offered in pine. It's a beautiful, rich color. I did not realize that the color is hand-enameled. Truly magnificent!

Fabulous collection
Forgive me for indulging, but I have to add my two cents, despite not owning this particular piece. I received the gorgeous Staub Pine Heritage Oval Terrine from this collection as a gift last year, and as it is a limited edition item, it is no longer available on the SLT website for review. This Coquette is of similar (i.e. stellar) quality and style, and the name is just too sweet, a diminutive for the large cocottes, but also meaning a "flirt."

These pans are incredible. The Oval Terrine is small (1.9 quart) and unusual in shape, and I thought I was indulging in a total luxury item without much utility, but was I ever wrong! It is one of the most used items in my kitchen, and a delight to have whether in use or not. I use it for baked dishes like gratins and roast veggies, as well as stove top items such as soups, stews, and even hot cereal! It has held up beautifully after a year, with minimal care. No chips, no sticking, and easy as a breeze to clean.

Note, though, that, as with all enameled cast iron, the thin rim where the top of the pan meets the lid is bare cast iron, unlike the rest of the pan and lid. A quick fingertip swipe with coconut, flax, olive, or other oil after washing will keep the area free of rust. Should you forget, use a nonabrasive sponge to remove the rust and bring it back to good as new.

My cookware is mainly French stainless lined heavy copper and hard anodized aluminum, with the Staub Pine Heritage Oval Terrine, 4 quart Grenadine Cocotte, and Black Matte Fish Pan to round out the arsenal. These pans hold their own against my top of the line items, and then some. I would buy this Coquette too, if I could justify purchasing a yet another item in this size/shape range. This is a handy size, great for smaller servings of soups and stews--enough for two people plus leftovers.

I would not hesitate to purchase other items in this collection should the size suit my needs. The Pine color (called Olive by Staub) is stunning--very rich and deep, a dark forest green with a feel of lamp black added to it. The enameling is top notch, as with all my Staub pieces. The styling of these vintage mold pieces is just lovely too, graceful and elegant in its simplicity. You won't regret it!

Love my Staub
This smaller 2.75 qt heavy Staub cooker is amazing! I will be able to make/simmer smaller quantities of stews, soups and braises. Love the quality, and love the SurLaTable service!

Fabulous!
They're heavy, but cook so well, so evenly. You're able to cook at a very low temp and meats come out so juicy and tender. I have a feeling I'll be using this cocotte often!

Staub Excellence
A beautiful and functional cast iron pot! The color is a gorgeous deep pine green with slight variations and no color on the edge and top of handles that you cannot see from the picture. I don't mind, but others interested in this style of Staub may like to know. All the cooking benefits I expect from these pots even though the braising nubs are not on the underside of this vintage style. Love the size, color, shape! Thank you Sur La Table.

Beautiful & elegant petite dutch oven
I own quite a few smaller dutch ovens which I use mainly for small (1-3 serving) portion stews and soups. This has become my go to daily pot for that purpose, and is performing very well indeed. I have to admit that what puts this above the other pots in my collection is that it's so darn cute. Something worth mentioning, though, is that the capacity is smaller than you might think. Not sure if it's because of the unique lip design, but I find this pot likes to have a max fill slightly lower than my others. Although I haven't measured it, I'd say this has a capacity closer to 2-2.5qt. I purchased this in Pine, which I find to be one of the most elegant green colors I've seen in enameled pots. Totally satisfied with mine so far

Great, except for delicat finish.
Very pretty and well made. My only concern is that the high gloss finish scratches stunningly easily.

Lovely Pine Green
I love the size and color of this pan. The paint is beautiful and the Staub quality is great. I like the handle as it's easy to grasp with a pot holder. Keeps contents warm for a long time. Looks beautiful on the table.

Heirloom ...
The jury was still out on this beautiful cast iron coquette ... until I made a simple but delicious soup for two. Not only did it heat evenly, but it stood out on top of the ranget in its simple but stunning design.

I like this green.
Yasuko S on Apr 16, 2017
Outside of being absolutely in love with Staub Cocottes and Pans, this particular pot, in the heirloom color pine, was the size I was looking for. Love the color and the history and I don't even mind that the lid does not have the spikes or nubs that assist with self basting.
I cook and bake almost everyday and appreciate cookware that produces a superior end product, is safe to use, and will last a lifetime or more with proper care. The look and beauty of Staub is the icing on the cake!

Is this item available in the saphire blue?
Jeffrey S on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: no, this shape is exclusively available in pine.
Is it gas and electric safe?
A shopper on Jun 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I've used it on my gas stove and in the oven with no issue. It's safe on ceramic- or glass-topped electric ranges. I imagine it would be safe on a regular electric burner too, though, except that I'd probably use one of those spacer-type things so the bottom of that gorgeous pot doesn't come into direct contact with the electric burner.
Does the lid have the spikes or not?
A shopper on Nov 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No spikes in the lid, smooth finish.
How much weight is this cocotte?I wana know item weight and shipping weight.
Mopsy on Jul 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The item weight is 9lbs. The shipping weight is 10.5lbs.
