A jewel in the kitchen!
This is the PERFECT cocotte. The dimensions are ideal for cooking in smaller quantities (i.e. dinner for two-three) and it's weight makes it very comfortable to lift off the stove/serve/wash etc. Be sure only to use wood spatula so as to not scrape the porcelain enamel interior with metal.

Perfect for two people!
I have a large oval dish but needed a smaller one and this one is perfect! Love that it works on my induction cooktop. Would highly recommend it for making soups, stews, chili, etc.

Like the size!
I have two other Le Creuset dutch ovens and I like this one for the size. It is very convenient and used more often than the big ones. The quality of Le Creuset is great!

Le Creuset French ovens
I currently own several Le Creuset French ovens. I love them and dishes come out perfectly when cooked in cast iron. My purchase was a gift to someone and is there first Le Creuset piece. She was thrilled.

when measuring the height of a french oven, do you include the knob on top of the cover?
BEST ANSWER: It depends why you need to know the height. If it is to determine if it will fit in your oven you would include the knob. If you want to know how high the pan is for putting items into it, you would just measure the side without the lid on the pan.

Is this red 2.75 qt shallow cocotte part of the signature series or classic? Looking at the picture of the knob and the rings on the lid, looks like the classic traditional series?
BEST ANSWER: Signature. At one point there was a set, not sure if this is still available. The individual dutch ovens are in a variety of colors as well.
