My new favorite gadget!
We love tacos, so we decided to give homemade tacos a try. Wow! What a difference... This little guy is my new favorite gadget.
We used Maseca corn flour. Basically you just mix water, maseca and salt according to the instructions on the flour packaging and you're ready to press.
Very handy that the press comes with instructions too (use a zip lock bag cut to make 2 squares, and place the ball of masa slightly off-center towards hinge). We got it right the first time.
Can't wait to test this also to make Patacones / Tostones - seems to be the only press I've seen equipped to tackle that job. Very well built!

I love this!
Last night I made tortillas for the first time and I don't plan to ever BUY them premade again! I mixed up a simple dough of flour, baking powder, salt and crisco then let it sit wrapped in plastic for 30 minutes while I made the taco meat and chopped up all of the veggies. I set this iron on my small burner on the stove at high. Not sure it even needs cooking spray because I only used it on the first few I made and they all turned out perfect! Made nice soft tortillas like flat bread that didn't break when bent.

Is the handle made out of cast iron?
A shopper on Nov 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it’s all cast iron. I am very happy with the press!
Can you warm this on the stovetop and cook the tortillas in the press?
A shopper on May 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wouldn't warm it on the stovetop. You would need to wear oven mits since the whole press would heat up and I do not know if the high heat would damage the hinges and screws. I use any flat frying pan I have on hand to warm them, and it works great!
Where is it made?
A shopper on Dec 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Colombia
Can I make whole wheat tortillas?
A shopper on Jan 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I've never made them but if you have a good recipe why not!!
