Does the job, could be more user friendly
I purchased this scale for the matching burr grinder from KitchenAid (KCG0702OB in my case). The fit is perfect for the grinder and there is less static than the glass bowl included with the grinder. When I installed the included batteries, the scale would not turn on but it worked fine with some rechargeable batteries that I had around so don't count on the included batteries for operation. For it's purpose as a coffee scale, the unit is functional but not perfect. There is no support under the buttons so pressing them causes the scale to tip and throws off the tare - usually requiring several presses to get a zero reading as the scale is quite sensitive to movement and one cannot hold the bowl or support the bottom without altering the reading. I find the reading accurate (or at least matching my other kitchen scale if both are off by the same amount) once proper care has been taken to zero out the scale. I do enjoy the ease of measuring the ground coffee vs. the whole beans where some loss may occur during the grind. I'd recommend the scale only for owners of the KitchenAid grinder as there are more friendly units available for others.
