I love it!
I have had my Prep and Cook for less than a week and have used it daily. It is efficient, obviously multifunction, and a delight to use. Cleaning is simple and quick. It takes the place of my rice cooker, steamer, multipot with stir tower, mixmaster, blender, and performs many functions of my food processor other than slicing. I initially used one of my own recipes to make pound cake and found it easy to use the manual controls. Using the cookbook I have made mango chutney, cheese gougeres, lemon curd, and a bread with olives, sun dried tomatoes and feta that was devoured in an afternoon. It is not that heavy and I have it paced in the car for a beach week with ingredients to make mud cake, risotto, lemon meringue pie, chocolate chip cookies, scalloped potatoes and Key lime pie.
Did I need this appliance? Well- I'll just say I can't imagine not having the opportunity to own it. It's the best and I may even have to give her a name! Thanks All Clad! (I bought this at Sur la Table and it was not part of a promotion.)

Enthralled, overwhelmed and quite possibly it may be love.
What a good idea! This machine is even better then the idea behind it. It mixes so efficiently that the time involved is startlingly short, less the two minutes to whip up brownies and cookies. Amazing. Actual cooking is nothing short of wonderful. Everything for my recipe went into the bowl later we had dinner. I have always dreamed of having a live in sous chef and now by golly my wishes have been granted. Big bonus pop the bowl, lid etc into the dishwasher. Hardest part of operation is touching the intuitive buttons. Enthralled I I am.

Great Product
This food processor is perfect, especially for a person living alone. It is easy to use, most of the recipes I have tried so far, are very tasty. It is easy to assemble, easy to clean. Love it.
Note: I have one recommendation on the cookbook however. Some of the recipes have hints under the instructions. They are printed in dark read on a black background and therefore difficult to read. I would recommend yellow on black instead.

Love this product
I love my all clad prep and cook. My only disappointment is with the cook book. It is hard
to read. I downloaded the pdf cookbook on my ipad but that doesn't even have all the recipes in it.
You put the number that is on the inex but it takes you to the web. It would be nice if you
put in the number and brought up that one recipe only. Hopefully you can do this.
Thank You.

Re-review of the Prep & Cook
I wrote a review of this product a few weeks ago. I figured out the D5 assembly and it's easy to take apart. The lids are a bit of a pain, but manageable. As I have used it more it seems to be a better product than I initially gave it ratings for. Just was my inexperience with it.

Would love to use this Prep & Cook System again and agian
I received this products a week ago, and for a week been thinking what recipe I would try make on it, looking on the cookbook that came with it to get some idea on how the machine work and I decide to make a Beef stew in Asian style (not in the cookbook) and it came out just perfect. after that I tried making some gravy, steam Fish and Rice Pilaf too (from cookbook) and all came just perfect.
Now I will be using this All-Clad Prep & Cook more often and with build in preset program and timer I don't have to be in the kitchen all day preparing meal and I don't have to worry about burn meal or uncooked.
Great product and I highly recommend specially for busy peoples.

Is this the Tefal brand just re-engineered to work in the US? It looks almost the same except the electronic panel is slightly different. Does it have an external steamer to avoid using up bowl space? Can broth be on the bottom bowl while other things likes veggies and fish are steaming in the top? Have there been any safety issues like the Thermomix? Does this get hot enough to make caramel or do sugar work? Does it have the option to store recipes on a removable card? Can the temperature be increased/decreased in one degree increments? Is it BPA and PFOA free? Where can it be repaired? Can an extended warranty be purchased, as two years is not very long for such an expensive item? Can it be programmed?
BEST ANSWER: This is not a T-Fal brand product. The steam basket is used directly in the bowl of the Prep&Cook. With it, you can simultaneously perform multiple functions. You can, for example, cook rice at the bottom of the bowl while steaming fish in the basket. The adjustable temperature settings go from 90°F to 270°F in increments of 10°F.

is it true you can't use just any cookbook but need custom recipes ?
BEST ANSWER: Not at all! I would suggest using the cookbook that comes with it at first until you get to know your machine but I am already making my own regular recipes. If you are thinking of purchasing this machine then you are likely somebody who likes to cook and you are in the kitchen trying new things. So, there is a little bit of a learning curve on using the machine and if you follow the cookbook you will be surprised at the wonderful things that come out. Then you can start experimenting with your own recipes. I love my All-Clad

Is this machine dual voltage?
Is it like the European Bimby? Does it include a scale that you can reset when you need to add each ingredient?
BEST ANSWER: The All-Clad Prep & Cook is very much like the European Bimby, the Thermomix TM5 by Vorwerk and the Bellini Kitchen Master Blender; the same concept. The All-Clad Prep & Cook does not include a scale.
