easy to use and works great
So easy to set up and use. Worked great for rising bread dough in my cold house. I am looking forward to trying some of the other features soon.

Fantastic for proofing bread
This is a must-have if you make sourdough bread. The yeast in sourdough requires a much more consistent and narrow temperature range. Before I owned this, my sourdough bread rose inconsistently--this changed the guesswork. I also like how it folds up very compactly.

I have not used it for making yogurt since I already own a yogurt maker, but I'm sure it would work very well for this task.

Good investment, but you'll need to use a thermometer, for good results!
I purchased this folding proofer to make yogurt in glass containers, which is coming out better than store bought, and at a much lower cost per serving.
I have followed different recipes, but have always used dairy milk with live cultures from single serving containers at the local market.
I strongly advise that when using this product, or it seems any other method, it is very important to check the temperature of the food with an accurate instant-read thermometer.
I have found that the food temperature in this proofer is 5 or 10 degrees Higher than the set temperature. I killed one batch of yogurt due to this discrepancy.

BEST ANSWER: No. I thought I had to get shelf kit initially but so far I really don’t need kit at all .
