Peel. Dice. Done.

Description

Just like a great sous chef, Breville’s exclusive Peel & Dice handles all the prep work—so you can focus on your next great recipe. Indispensable during the holidays or anytime you’re entertaining, this culinary powerhouse features versatile attachments that can peel, dice, slice, julienne, whisk, emulsify, make French Fries, knead dough and more. Its special peeling blade can perfectly peel seven potatoes in under a minute, and the unique dicing kit uses a two-step process to create precise, even cubes of fruits and veggies—making quick work of prep for soup, salsa and more. The 12-mm dicing blade first slices ingredients, then dices them for consistent and delicious results. When you need perfect slices, the adjustable slicing disc offers 24 settings—from paper-thin (0.3mm) to thick-cut (8mm).

The Sous Chef Peel & Dice is the only food processor with an extra-wide feed chute and dicing area; at 5.5" wide, it accommodates larger ingredients with ease—meaning less prep work for you. Two work bowls accommodate any job. There’s a large, durable 16-cup bowl for bigger recipes, as well as a 2.5-cup mini bowl for processing smaller quantities. With five cutting discs and three blades, all durable stainless steel, the Peel & Dice adapts to all your favorite recipes. The sturdy, die-case metal base has non-skid rubber feet for stability and a cord storage feature to keep your countertop tidy. It even comes with an accessory storage case for all the extras!

Even higher quality than expected.
So glad I went for 16 instead of 12 cup; I can keep adding salad ingredients without emptying the bowl. For the cost of two extra bags of groceries I went for the peel and dice because this is certainly the last food processor I'll ever buy as I'm 48 and my last (different brand) processor lasted 26 years and was lower quality. The peel and dice has 3 chute sizes instead of the 2 you get with the regular 16 cup model. The 3rd size handles a nice head of romaine and shreds it beautifully using the widest setting on the slicing blade. I first split the head lengthwise easily by hand and feed each half at a time. What has surprised me the most is the reduction in vegetable waste which will certainly pay for this machine.

No Regrets
A substantial piece of equipment - made to last. The Breville Peel & Dice does exactly what is advertised. Peeling and dicing has never been easier. Very happy with this purchase.

One of the best things I've bought
This machine is certainly expensive but performs each task I've tossed at it with perfection. It slices cleanly and faster than I can blink, dices perfectly, shreds with ease, juliennes fantastically and while the french fry blade has shed a few wacky cuts it was all the potato, not the device. Even the potato peeler works great and while not something I will use often, something that really works and makes short work if you have enough to use it. My former food processor had barely any function and I used it constantly. This has become like another limb. If it seems like more than you need you will likely have regrets. If it seems like it is perfect for you, it likely will be.

Breville Food Processor Peel and Dice
A large machine that performs excellently. Does everything it says. Even sliced soft tomatoes cleanly. Have not tried peeling potatoes, but not sure that's really worth the effort.

Great but cumbersome
This unit is fabulous and quickly does it stuff. My only complaint is that the attachments in a separate container take up a lot of space and are a bit cumbersome to access and "repack."

Five stars aren’t enough!
This machine is a beast! We made potato cakes with onion, zucchini, red pepper, carrots and potatoes. It shredded everything with no effort at all. I’m amazed at the incredibly well thought out bowl, tools and storage. The bowl is massive - everything above fit in one go. The base is beautiful and heavy - nothing vibrates at all. If you’re looking for a way to make chopping, shredding, mixing, dicing and slicing fun and fast, you’ve found it! I needed this in my life - I’m so glad it’s in my home.

Is the only thing different about this compared to the 16 cup sous chef is the dicing and peeling discs?
Amber W on Sep 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: There are actually several differences. The first obvious one is you receive the dicing and peeling blades (and for a limited time, you can mail in for 2 additional sized dice blades). Secondly, the bowl is actually different, it’s designed to accept the dicer blade (the top rim of the bowl is larger to accept the blade, and has a “dicer compatable” label on the outside of it). The chute width is the same, but has 3 sizes rather than the 2 with the regular Sous Chef.

There are a couple of cosmetic differences too: The measurement labels on the outside of the bowl are in red rather than white and the bottons on the timer are different.
How long will the special offer be running for the free extra 8mm and 16mm blades. I cant find anything about it on thier website. When does the free offer expire?
Helene D on Oct 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It ends on 1/18/18.
Can I buy the new peeling/dicing blade(s) to add to my Sous Chef?
Melisa on Sep 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Breville doesn’t make the blades available separately right now. If they did, you would need to purchase a new bowl to use them. It is a better deal in the long run to purchase the Sous Chef Peel and Dice over the over the 16 cup Sous Chef, if you want the dice blades, as you would pay more in if the individual components were available.
How can I get this bonus dicing kit for 8mm & 16mm? Would it enclosed with the Sous Chef Peel & Dice together?
Chan H on Oct 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: To receive the bonus Dicing Kit (with the 8mm and 16mm dicing blades) you must first register your Sous Chef 16 Cup Peel & Dice on Breville’s website (you’ll need the serial number on the bottom of the base). Then, call Breville! Registration alone will not enter an order for the free Dicing Kit, the order must be placed with Breville.

I could not find anything on Breville’s site that mentioned you will receive the Dicing Kit upon registration. After registering, I expected to receive an email confirmation that the appliance was registered and I would receive my Dicing Kit, but I didn’t receive one. I called 2 weeks after registering my Sous Chef 16 Peel and Dice to confirm, the Breville representative confirmed my registration and helped place an order for the free Dicing Kit, mentioning “it was a good thing you called, so we could put the order in”...

The Breville representative I spoke to said the Dicing Kit was not expected to be in stock until the beginning of December.
Can the dicer handle something hard as butternut squash. Will it dice some thing soft like chicken or fish?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The instructions say it can handle "butternut pumpkin" with the dicing kit..I have diced carrots and the only thing it says not to dice is sweet potato because it is fibrous and could strain the motor. I do not see why it would not dice chicken. The blades are SUPER sharp (both my husband and myself accidentally touched the dicing blade and both cut ourselves).
I have the Breville SousChef 16 cup food processor. Can the new blades be purchased separately so I can peel and dice on it without having to spend $500 on another food processor?
Jennifer M on Sep 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I just chatted with Breville and they said the blades would be available for purchase early next year.
Is there any coupons or discounts besides free shipping?
Christina M on Sep 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. Breville is a brand exclusion.
Is this strong enough to chop up almonds if I want to make my own almond milk?
Robin K on Oct 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is.
Does this machine cone with a 25yr motor warranty?
Christina M on Sep 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This machine has a 1-year limited product warranty and a 25-year motor warranty offered through the manufacturer.
What is going to be in bonus dicing kit? how big is the dice? Is that going to be different than the one that comes with food processor already?
Valentina I on Oct 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The bonus dicing kit will include a 8mm & 16mm dicing disc. The machine comes with a 12mm dicing kit.
Does anyone have a video how-to link re storage of dicing kit materials (the bottom drawer)? Every single time I use it I struggle to put things away properly.
Nancy K on Nov 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The trick is to flip the dicing disc - the disc with the checkerboard pattern. One side of the dicing disc is deeper which allows the other components to nestle in. I had the same problem and finally figured out what was happening. I'm not at home so I cannot state with certainty but I believe the deeper side of the dicing disc is upward so the other disc (the peeler?) sits down lower.
Can I make almond butter in this?
Jeannine S on Oct 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Perfectly, and to any consistancy
Which blade would I use if I wanted to make a sauce for my fish? Or does this just focus on chopping/dicing and whatnot?
A shopper on Oct 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The chopping blade. Probably in the small bowl. I used it to make a dressing and it worked well.
did anyone find the base and bowl have some room for wiggle left and right, when they are in lock position?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: no I haven't had that happen. in fact it has always been quite sturdy,
I eat a lot of sweet potatoes and dicing them is a chore. I see that someone answered that this machine cannot dice sweet potatoes. Can it slice them or cut them into fries?
A shopper on Feb 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The manual clearly states " DO NOT DICE SWEET POTATO (Yam/Kumara).
Due to its dry, fibrous texture dicing sweet potato is not recommended with the
Dicing Kit. Sweet Potato places high load on the Dicing Kit which causes high friction and
potential damage to the Bowl Lid." This refers only to dicing not making fries. On page 23, the manual also says that you can use the slicing and shredding discs and the peeler with sweet potatoes and specifically lists sweet potato fires as a "Dish Type Suggestion." So, no sweet potato dicing but otherwise it should be fine. Disclaimer - I've not yet tried sweet potatoes - this is just info from the manual.
How does this do with liquids? My Cuisinart is old and doesn't allow me to puree soups without leaks, much less do all the tricks this does. That is the main reason I'm looking. But now I want all this productivity. Does it clean up easily? I'm torn between the Breville Sous
Chef Food Processor, 16 Cup and this. Why can't I have it all? I have a small kitchen and even having one of these stored is a stretch.

Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice
Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice
Breville Sous Chef Food Processor, 16 Cup
Breville Sous Chef Food Processor, 16 Cup
BEST ANSWER: I have not had any leaking issues with pureeing fresh pumpkin. I find the Breville line of small electrics to be superior in every line they make. The cleanup is so easy as there are not many areas for food to get lodged and that is awesome. Now, I have had a Cuisinart food processor for over 20 years and replaced it with the Sous Chef and there is a much larger footprint on the counter. But, it is a superb food processor that excels in everything I need accomplished. I plan on getting the peeling disc as soon as it is offered.
What is the difference between this and the pro model (BFP800XL/A)?
shi m on Oct 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This has the peeling and diving disks. It also has 3 pusher sizes as opposed to 1.
Can it finely grate parmigiana?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I used it to grate Parmigiana-Reggiano, and it did very well.
Is the unit itself 31 lbs? Or is that the main unit plus all of the attachments?
Jennifer D on Dec 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It does come in a very big box. The base unit (silver part) weighs about 15lbs, the storage box/discs/blades is about 10-11lbs, the bowls/lid is 4 to 5 lbs. I'm first using this model, seems good. I had an earlier model, not nearly the number of blades and discs. The unit is much better than Cuisinarts which we used for years and years. Caution: Parts of the lids are not dishwasher safe. It would be easier if everything or nothing could go into the dishwasher rather than making sure you do not put some into the dishwasher and tell others using the machine or helping with clean up about that.
I recently bought the 16 cup chef Breville BFP800XL Sous Chef food processor. I was wondering if it is possible to add the peel and dice kit to it. I should have ordered the one that comes with it but I didn’t and now I wish I would have. Does Breville have an add on kit that will work with my model? If so, what exactly do I need to order.
