My new go to.
I have braised a pork shoulder and a chuck roast. Both turned out fantastic. I’ve also used it for spaghetti sauce. It’s great for stove top searing and simmering. And then works great as a Dutch oven. And the ceramic cast iron makes clean up very easy.

Best pan!
I got this about a month ago and have used it several times. The handles make it so much easier to move from stove to oven and to counter. It cleans up beautifully. It looks great. The heat distribution is fabulous. Highly recommend it.

Best pan purchase ever.
When I saw this pan, I knew I had to have it. And after receiving it, I love it. It’s my new go-to pan for just about everything. Made a Dutch Baby this morning and it was amazing. Doing a spatchcocked chicken tonight. The lid just adds to the equation..

We bought a small Staub Dutch oven a couple years back that we love. The All-Day pan is the same great quality. Easy cleanup for cast iron. We got black because it always looks great. Love that you can use soap to clean. This pan is on our stovetop most of the time.

I’ve bought a lot of pans but none is better than this versatile skillet. For the price, it’s a bargain.

Magnificent Pan!
I’ve used my Staub Cocotte many times and have loved the results. This All-day Pan is absolutely wonderful. You get the great heating of the cast iron, the visibility with the glass lid and the versatility of a casserole and/or skillet. This pan is magnificent!!

Super versatile
I love this pan because it is so versatile. I have already done fish, pheasant marsala, even eggs. The glass lid is perfect to see the progress of the dish without opening the pan. I also have the skillet, and the braiser for oven dishes, but this has become my "go-to" skillet.

Downsizing means not having gas cooking. Most of my cookware had formed (shaped) to my previous stove. Fresh starts can be good with new cookware that hasn’t been misshaped with use.

I just had a cooking with cast iron class today and we used this cast iron. It was easy to manage when we cooked/basted the steaks with butter and thyme. Delicious outcome of the steaks in medium rare. Thanks to Chef Jared. I will definitely use this!

BEST ANSWER: It's an awesome pan!! It's only 2.5 inches high not including the lid. It is 10" on the bottom surface and 12.5" end to end not including the handles. It's lighter than regular cast iron and the cleans up fabulously!! Best purchase in a long time.
Is enamel on inside or outside pan?

BEST ANSWER: Both. The exterior is a smooth colored enamel. The interior is a rougher semi shiny black enamel.
Can I assume that the 11" W is the bottom of the pan and the 12.5" L is the rim of the pan (excluding handles)? Also is the 4.5" H just for the pan, excluding the lid?

BEST ANSWER: The bottom of the pan is 10”. The rim of the pan is 12”. The height of the pan, bottom to top of lid handle, is 6”. The depth of the pan is 2.25”. It’s a great pan. I used it to braise a pork shoulder all the way through to spaghetti sauces.
Does this pan work on a glass-top induction electric range?

BEST ANSWER: I have had Staub for 2 years now and here are my tips

Wipe with vegetable oil just before heating and let it heat up till you can smell the oil, about 10 minutes on medium-low heat.. Add the oil of you choice for browning or sautéing. Add a little butter for frying eggs. If you have a sticking problem you are not letting the pan get hot enough. You will probably not use as much oil as with stainless cookware. You do not need more than medium heat unless you are bringing liquid to a boil.

To clean wipe with paper towel to remove excess oil and food, rinse with hot water, let soak if need be and wash with a soft cloth.. Use Bar Keepers Friend polishing cleanser only on the interior of the pan to remove food shadows, it will dull the beautiful exterior enamel, rinse well and dry. Do not oil the pan before putting it away.

I've replaced all my stainless, except for my saucepans, with Staub and they all still look new. Enjoy your Staub!
Is it a good pan for stir fry?

BEST ANSWER: I have not used mine yet, but I have a wok which is the best to use for stir fry because of it's shape...you can push the vegetables up so that they are on top of whatever you are cooking next so they don't become overcooked. The sides of this pan are not as sloped as they are in a wok, but it might be okay.
Does the height measurement include the lid?

BEST ANSWER: I don’t know what the height measurement is on the description, but I measured it and the pan without the lid is about 2 and 1/2 inches and about 5 with the lid. I love this pan.

BEST ANSWER: First thought is what’s causing the dulling?
1) Is it residual buildup of food, or nonstick sprays
2) Is the surface damaged from scrubbing
3) What types of tools are used? Wooden spoons, Silicone, etc?
Be interesting to also know what type of range top & oven you use, what foods is it used for, and how it’s cleaned.
We pay a lot and rely on our Staub cookware. We’d all like to know what’s happening to yours and if it’s normal.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, cast iron and much more! Staub could not have perfected this pan any more. This pan is not only cast iron but non-stick, the perfect size, with an incredible see through lid. You’ll be cooking in a work of art!
Is the bottom of this pan painted or bare metal? My ceramic cook top instructions warns against using painted pans.

BEST ANSWER: I use mine on my ceramic cooktop all the time. You just don't want to slide it around. It's enamel coated on the sides and bottom, so it's not painted, but it's not bare metal either.

Do handles get hot when cooking?

BEST ANSWER: On my gas range, the handles do get hot after a while when cooking. Nothing like when I put the pan in the oven, but I do prefer to use a potholder or glove if I need to move it. It’s heavy and doesn’t slide around when sautéing, so it’s really only an issue if I need to immediately take the pan off the burner (because I can just turn off the gas to take it off the heat).
What to use to clean the interior?

BEST ANSWER: After each use I fill my pan with hot water and Dawn dishwashing liquid and let it soak for a while; then I scrub it with a Scotch Bright greener clean non scratch scrub sponge. After several uses if the white residue is present I use Bon Ami and the same scrub sponges. I then give the pan a very light coat of canola oil, be sure to wipe up any excess oil. This is my favorite pan and it gets a lot of use.
Can I use glad lid in oven to make pot roast etc?

BEST ANSWER: The lid is oven proof, I’ve had mine up to 500, although I don’t recommend as it will stain at that high heat. I made bread, but pot roast, no problem, I use Brillo to keep the lid like new.

BEST ANSWER: Technically, I am not sure that it qualifies as that. I do think it has a surface that resists sticking but I have not cooked in it without some type of oil/grease. It does clean up easily, so far :-)
perfect pan versus all day pan?

BEST ANSWER: I have the Heritage All-day pan. I don't think you can go wrong with either one, I was more attracted to the heritage style of the all day pan. They're really very similar except for a few subtle differences; The handles on the all day pan are sloped up, which make them easier to grip while using oven mitts or hot pads, but it doesn't have the steaming rack like the perfect pan does; I have steaming baskets, so I don't miss it. I use my all-day pan literally every day, for most of my dishes. I love it!
Is it good for induction?

BEST ANSWER: I haven’t used it for induction but pretty sure it would be great because it is for everything else! I love this cooking vessel. It’s useful for all kinds of dishes, I’ve even used it as a paella pan, for roasting a chicken, steaming clams and mussels, braising short ribs, and cooking meatballs. It really is all piupose. It acts like a non-stick pan because of how east it is to clean and goes from stove or oven right to the table since it’s so attractive. It’s a go-to pan for entertaining. Love this pan!

BEST ANSWER: This has become one of my favorite stovetop pieces in my kitchen. A lot of recipes call for browning and searing steps and then place in a dutch oven to braise or bake. Because of the tight-fitting dome top this pan does both. Especially great for whole chicken and half turkey breast because of the ability to sear & seal. Fits on my five buner gas cooktop really well due to no long handle and fits in full oven because of small handles.
Handles do get hot so it does require hot pads. Very high quality - enamel looks like the day I bought it.
Can I use this in my induction burner?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, This is a great pot. I use it on my regular ceramic cooktop all the time. The induction wants an absolutely flat smooth surface on the bottom of a pot. This has that except for an indented"STAUB"that is an inch across in the center bottom. I believe that the induction does not want ridges and whorls raising the pot up off the bottom of the cooking surface. I had an induction and gave it up because I was overcooking everything - definitely an amateur. I would use this on my induction, but would be careful of the heat.
Can cooked food be left in it overnight since it is an enameled cast iron?

BEST ANSWER: Hi, I suspect that food would be fine left in the enameled pan, even tomato based stuff. I do not think I would leave it in there for a week.
Is it ok to use in high heat? (Le Creuset cast irons say only medium heat recommended due to white enamel). Been looking for a cast iron skillet to sear steak in very high heat (but this pan seems more versatile) - is it ok to do with this pan?

BEST ANSWER: I have the Staub All-Day Pan and the Staub Steam Griddle 12". I use the Steam Griddle for searing steaks and burgers as it suggests and it is oven compatible to 500F. I really love this brand as the flavors of any meat or fish I cook are extra delicious. I hope this is helpful.
Is the black color matte or shiny?

BEST ANSWER: actually, the finish is "semi" shiny. It is not dull like an unseasoned cast iron pan and not shiny like those copper colored nonstick pans. The finish is smooth with a slight sheen. By the way, I love this pan. Great pan, great price!
