USE FINGER GUARD!
This mandolin is SHARP! take my word for it, thanksgiving and the julienne sweet potatoes... wont go into the gory details, but if you want a sharp hand held mandolin this is a good quality one with a lot of features

love this product
Has a million uses. Grab it every time I need a thinly sliced item.

Excellent Product
This is a great value for a sharp, wonderful mandoline. It does a wonderful job on slicing potatoes etc. Easy to use and clean. Ceramic blades are very sharp (I like that!) so follow the directions and use the hand guard

Good not great
Just not as sharp as I wanted. Items tend to stick, requiring more pressure which makes it easier to cut yourself

Just Didn't Do It for Me
I wanted to love this mandoline, especially since I had already returned the first one I got. Sadly, it just didn't happen. It wasn't substantial enough for me. It felt like it was going to fall apart any time I would slice an onion or potato. It also tore up one of my tomatoes.
I let my mom borrow it while she had a cast on her wrist, then I just never bothered to take it back. I'm not terribly upset about not having it.

Great value for the price
I used this mandoline slicer on a weekly basis for 8 years and it stayed nice and sharp that entire time and just recently broke - the red plastic next to the blade cracked. My main complaint about it was the finger guard. It cracked soon after purchase but I had a spare from the julienne slicer that I still use with frustration. The guard needs better guides so it doesn't slip all over the place and needs a better way to grip the produce. I think I'm going to upgrade and get a stainless steel mandoline with interchangeable blades so I don't have to have two slicers in the drawer and won't risk it cracking.

The ceramic knives that I have are scary sharp and the blade of this slicer is of the same material. I am using this as a test unit before buying a higher end slicer. This ceramic blade should stay sharp longer and be easier to use: IE less force and cleaner cuts.

This is the best Mandoline. I bought one a few years ago and the sharpness of the blade is still as new. So, this will be a gift.

This makes smooth and consistent slices. I trialed it during a cooking class at the store and loved how smoothly it sliced the vegetables I needed. It also works great for fruit!

A small mandoline that you can keep in a drawer is more likely to be used than a countertop version that requires setup.

Does this have adjustable cutting capabilities? If so, what are the measurements of the slices?
A shopper on Apr 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the blade is adjustable. There is a small rotating square bar underneath the blade that allows for various thickness capabilities depending on which side you turn the bar. It doesn't allow for great variation, but it has worked for exactly what I needed it to work for. Hope this helps!
