Great product
This food processor is wonderful - it works quickly and is very easy to clean (everything is dishwasher safe)!

Wonderful Product
I love this processor. I bought it to replace my old, smaller Cuisinart that died after 25 years of faithful service. This one is bigger, stronger, faster and the components are dishwasher safe. Plus I like the stainless steel base. I'm looking forward to another 25 years!

This food processor is very easy to use and clean. It works very effectively and quickly.

It makes everything easy
I got this to replace an old blender I was using to make smoothies and hummus. The motor is is wonderfully strong and as the other reviews stated, it is super easy to use and clean.
I considered getting a smaller capacity model and am very happy I got the largest one. I no longer have to mix in batches. It works for everything except really small volume mixing. I will happily use my hand mixer for making pesto and salad dressings.
I love this mixer and highly recommend it.

Absolutely Fabulous
No kidding. I use it for big jobs - it can handle anything - and have a 9 cup all set up to do what a mini might do. The only modification I might wish for would be to have the feed tube in the front (as it is in the 9-cup) instead of the back. But, hey, who needs perfection? I love it. I love them both! By the way, here's a tip: if you hate cleaning the top of the apparatus every time you use it, cover the bowl with glad wrap before you put the top on. No more flying bits of onion, carrot, or whatever. You just have to deal with the bowl. .

A Great Food Processor!
Got this to replace our 1980's vintage Cuisinart. The work bowl finally cracked and buying a new one made more sense even thought the old motor still ran fine. I expect this will be the last one I ever need to buy. Most of our old accessories fit this new one which is a bonus. The only thing we miss is the flat lid accessory which is no longer made and the old one doesn't fit the new work bowl. The flat lid was much easier to clean than the regular lid with the food chute. Come on Cuisinart!
That aside, this is an amazing machine.

Great Food Processor
After checking Cooks magazine review I choose this food processor for the large capacity size & b/c I previously had a Cuisinart. It feels sturdy, well made & functions easily. The only thing I do not like is that the feed tube is located at the back of the machine. A little odd & harder for me to use since I am short & petite. This feature does allow for better visibility at the front of the machine though.

Very pleased
Been using Cuisinarts since 1980 and have gone through several as I use them daily for many purposes. Knew I would be in the market for a replacement item and researched it. Sur la Table had the right price and stellar customer service. It came much faster than anticipated and is great. Same capacity and power as the one it replaced but with a slightly lower profile and controls which will not fall apart!

What is the difference between the DFP-14BCN and the DFP-14BCNY models? Thanks in advance for any answers.
Sarah H on May 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They are the same version. The difference for the addition of the Y was because of the change of the blade.Problems with cracking of he blade over time or heavy use. Therefore Cuisinart corrected the blade. to which you will receive the corrected model with the DFP14 BCN Y ...
In the dimensions, which is the height? Also is this the same one reviewed in Jan 2016 Cook's Illustrated which Includes "Custom" in the description? Thank You.
Emily T on Dec 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The height is 15.75" and yes, it is the same as what is considered Custom.

Does this model have the Tritan work bowl and cover with the four tabs?
A shopper on Dec 14, 2016
is this compatible with the old version?

I have the classic version with accessories. I see that people say this is BPA free- thinking the old accessories may not be? they look the same on the picture but wonder if i should just get rid of it all. Any reason to keep old accessories? blades? the motor is going.. very rough sounding and sometimes sticks.. time to replace. thanks for any info. the old one i have is pro 11.
A shopper on Feb 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: According to Cuisinart Customer Service, the 11 cup you currently own is not BPA free, and the parts would not be compatible with the newer 14 cup model. It sounds like you'd be better of replacing it.
what is watt size?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This food processor is 720 watts.
Will cuisinart make the low profile flat cover for this food processor?
Elizabeth Little on Oct 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: this is a question for the manufacturer. not a user.
what is the wattage?
A shopper on Aug 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's 720 watts.
Cooks Illustrated just updated their review of this food processor and said a new and improved model will be released February, 2016. The new model number is DFP-14BCNY. It appears this item is the older model, DFP-14BCN. Could you confirm if it would be possible to order the newer model from Sur La Table? I'd like to order from your store if possible. Thanks.
Anna M on Mar 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the DFP-14BCNY is the one we carry.
what is the measurement between the outside edge of the shredding and slicing blades and the side of the work bowl? Do vegetables like carrots get fully shredded or do you end up with lots of large pieces that fall into the work bowl?
A shopper on Jun 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am not at the house that has this unit, but I understand exactly what you mean. To prevent this you should use the smaller inner tube, or for larger quantities fill the larger tube. If you dump the carrots in at all angles, this problem may occur.
I used mine to shred Cabbage in large quantities for sauerkraut. When it is full, it lifts the blade a little and sounds different. When this happens I dump it out. and start over. It didn't spill a significant amount into the inner channel (for the bade power, nor out side. This motor didn't over heat like my earlier model Cuisinart. I feel that the have improved the interlock system that I considered a weak point of the earlier model.
where can you buy the dough blade for this product?
Charlotte D on Sep 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, Amazon doesn’t have the dough blade for this model, but Cuisinart has it. Cook’s Illustrated wrote an article that said, in summary, they made 2 batches of pizza dough w/ 4.5 cups of flour using the the metal blade and the dough blade. Both did “a comparable job of kneading the dough, but the metal blade did it 15% faster...We’re sticking with the metal blade for all doughs.”
What are the dimensions of this product?
A shopper on Dec 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 7.5" wide
10.5" deep
15" tall
Can I use this to make salsa?
Erik S on Dec 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, but it depends on how pretty you want your salsa to be. If you want perfectly chopped fresh salsa where the onion, jalapeño, and tomato are all evenly diced you'll need to use a knife. If you're making a salsa that will be roasted or cooked, the food processor is fine. Check the directions on your salsa recipes. The processor will chop somewhat evenly if you pulse it, but depending on how ripe your tomatoes are it may puree them more than chop them.
I have a very old CUISINART DLC 7 Pro . Is the 14 cup processor the equivalent?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is the equivalent size and shape, however, the design changed for disc stems and the device itself so attachments, like the old pasta attachment, won't sit on this new base. So if you want a similar machine, this is your best bet. But don't expect any previous attachments to work with it. Still, all in all, I do like this machine. What was also frustrating was that the chopping blade on this machine was recalled and it took about 8 months to get a new one. Be sure that the chopping blade has been updated with their replacement.
Which discs are included?
A shopper on Dec 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The discs that were included with my 14 cup unit were the slicing and the grating discs. The is a metal chopping blade and a dough (plastic) blade also. I will seek extra slicing blades because I make sauerkraut in very large batches. I like the unit.
Dave
How do I store disks safely?
A shopper on Nov 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: it is possible to store the discs in the food processor when not in use. There is also an accessory that very securely holds extra discs. You may be able to find one on line.
I have a 16 cup Bowl and it has broken and I can't find a replacement? Will a 14 cup Bowl work instead?
Leta R on Sep 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You might try contacting Cuisinart directly or on their web site to get an exact replacement part or to answer this.
Can you dice with this?
marcia p on Aug 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: What I like about this food processor is the ability to use a variety of blades - to slice, grate, julienne, make French fries, etc. I'm unaware of a blade for dicing. I "dice" (not as defined technically; by "dice," I mean I chop things up small) by pulsing the unit with the chopping blade in the bottom. The more I pulse, the smaller the chop, or "dice." But I think that would be true of most home food processors.
I have an old DLC-7 Super Pro. Will my blades and pasta machine attachment work with this?
A shopper on Jun 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The blades work just fine. I don't have the pasta attachment. It appears to be the same machine as the original one I bought years ago
Is this model included on the recall by Cuisinart last year?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The model that we now carry has the new blades and is not the one that was recalled.
Any other color options besides black?
A shopper on Dec 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There are other color options if you go to the Cuisinart website. But it seems Sur La Table only offers one color. I saw a 14 cup red one on a food blog that looked nice.
Where can I buy the doing blade for the14 cup?
A shopper on Nov 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I believe I got the dough blade directly from the company. Try looking up Cuisinart food processor parts or replacement parts online or calling Cuisinart Customer Service. Good luck!
I lost my manual, how do I put the processor together so it will spin?
A shopper on Mar 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The processor has safeguards so there is no injury.

First, the "bowl" has to be put on and rotated to the lock position so that the handle lines up with center of the processor.

Second, the cover of the bowl has to be rotated on to the bowl so that it also locks - there is a safety system on back side of bowl that the cover has to latch onto.

Lastly, the insert for the delivery chute on top of the cover has to be ALL the way down - it also locks into the safety system on the back of the bowl.

All these things have to be correct for the processor to work.
What is the minimum amount of food I can put into the bowl for pulsing?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The pulser is low to the bottom of the processor. You would not need to put in much... Perhaps a cup of food for it to work.
Is there a different bowl size available for this food processor?
Julie S on Sep 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know if there's a different bowl size for this processor. The bowls snap into predetermined slots, so I think you have to go with the bowl that comes with the machine. The Cuisinart does come in a variety of sizes though. I had a smaller model and moved up to the 14-cup size and have been very happy.
I need to replace my DLC7 Pro, but have many discs that I want to use with a new machine. (My extra fine coconut shredding disc isn't available anymore.) Will the DLC7 Pro discs (6 3/8" diameter) work with this DFP-14BCN machine?
Donna C on Dec 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: All of my DLC7pro accessories with the exception of the flat working bowl lid fit perfectly on my new DFP-14BCN. I have most of the slicing and dicing discs as well as the mixer attachment.
I have a 14-cup DFP-14BC and the am frustrated that there is no way to remove the small push tube and the large push tube without removing the entire push tube assembly. Hence, you have to remove the entire push tube mechanism (small & large push tubes together) with the whole tube assembly anytime I want to shred or slice a a large vegetable. Do the replacement parts have the same configuration? I notice on the newer machines that they have changed this so you can remove just the tube and not an entire assembly.
A shopper on Oct 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I'm not familiar with how to disassemble this food processor, so for quick reference, I've provided a link to all available replacement parts on the Cuisinart website:
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/cuisinart-dfp14bcn-custom-food-processor-parts-c-147322_147329_147427.html
What’s the Wattage?
A shopper on Dec 25, 2017
