5 Years and Counting
I have had my Bodum 32 oz French Press for over 5 years now and I look forward to using it every morning. Drip Coffee just can't hold a candle to this baby. It consistently produces the deepest, most aromatic coffee without ever burning the beans! It also makes great loose leaf teas.

Though the press has help up very well over the past 5 years, I think it's about time for me to replace the mesh filter, but aside from that, there is no real noticable wear to my french press

This is the only coffee maker you will ever need!
I don't know why I waited so long to get a French press, but I am glad I have one now. It has put to shame my old countertop drip coffee maker-I have throw it out as a matter of fact. The taste is beyond comparison. I have yet to experience a bad cup of coffee with my Bodum French Press. I have brewed all types of beans from the darkest roast to the light milds and the verdict is the same. Excellent! So you can keep your fancy digital Robot coffee maker contraptions, I will be the guy with Bodum enjoying my superior cup of coffee. Those machines are pretty to look at- so you got that going for you. Enjoy

Morning Bliss!
All other coffee preparations fail to compare to the rich and perfectly balanced French Press! I have tried all other types but this is the only one for me! Make sure to coarse grind your beans and let steep for the 4 minutes, stir and press

Great French Press!
Received this french press as a wedding shower gift, and have been hugely impressed. We were looking for something to use when making coffee for one person or during a power outage. The 32 oz. press makes enough coffee for 3-4 cups. It's easy to clean and use. The overall result is wonderful. Much better cup of coffee than our drip maker produces, with less fuss and effort! I would highly recommend this product. I doubt we'll use it every day since we drink a lot of coffee, but it's perfect for weekends or after dinner coffee

The beaker broke after using for a month
We were very excited about our French Press purchase and happy with the coffee till the glass beaker started developing cracks after only a month of use. We were super careful about how we handled it but one day while making coffee we noticed one crack and after a few weeks another new one which has made it unusable.

Excellent, 1-Liter french press
The "8-cup" is 32 oz. and it is enough coffee for 2 people who drink a large cup each in the morning. Very nice looking and works well.

The Bodum French Press is the very best on the market. I've owned and used several of them. They're sturdy and the glass keeps the heat in while brewing. Best cup of coffee!!

I currently have a single cup coffee maker and don't like so much waste. French Press allows me to make small amounts of coffee that tastes better than a drip coffee maker. This one was highly rated in several places and the reviews were good.

How many cups will a 12oz Bodum Chambord French press make? A 17oz?
A shopper on Nov 26, 2011
BEST ANSWER: This comes in severa sizes 12 oz, 17oz, 32oz or 48oz. The twelve ounce will make 2 6oz cups of coffee, The 17 oz will make approximately 3 5.5-6oz cups of coffee, the 32oz will make about 6 5oz cups of coffee and the 48 oz will make 8 6oz cups of coffee. It goes by the standard European measurement for a cup of coffee which is 5-6oz instead of the 8oz American Standard.
Where is the Bodum Chambord French Presses manufactured?
Lucille P on Oct 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: According to the box it is designed in Switzerland and made in Portugal. I use mine at least 2 times a day for bulk herb teas. Good purchase!
Glass carafe molded too small? It slips out of the holder when pouring hot coffee and the plunger sticks especially when hot. Anyone else, too? Sep 2014
pj c on Aug 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I haven't seen any reviews from others having this problem. It sounds like yours might be defective. Feel free to return it for a refund or replacement.
What country is the French press made in?
Mary T on Nov 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Portugal.
Is this a good choice to buy for making cold brewed coffee?
A shopper on Aug 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We make cold brew in ours all the time... Or at least our version... make it hot then serve over ice. (probably makes some coffee lovers freak out!)
I have purchased 4 glass beakers within 6 months. I had to replace them because they all shattered. I am currently using my tea pot. I will not buy another glass beaker. I love french press coffee but I don't know what I shall do since I break them so easily. Maybe I will just return to tea. I will not purchase a new beaker every 3 weeks.Recommendations?

Bodum® Chambord Hotel Stainless-Steel French Press
Bodum® Chambord Hotel Stainless-Steel French Press
Can you use this to brew loose tea too?
A shopper on Nov 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You could, but if you use the same press for tea and coffee, the tea may not taste right because the ph balances are different and overtime the coffee may "flavor" the glass.
Is the french press made of stainless steel or aluminum?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It's stainless steel.
The sizes listed on the website are per cup, but don't indicate the size per cup. What are the ounces for each?
A shopper on Dec 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Look at the Bodum website.
The manufacturer's website gives the total capacity in ounces for each size. For example: CHAMBORD Coffee maker, 8 cup, 1.0 l, 34 oz
In which country is the French press coffee maker made?
Mary T on Nov 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is produced in Portugal.
how do I make coffee in this ?
A shopper on Feb 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 1. Place press on flat table or counter top.

2. Add coffee grounds. Course grounds only. Fine grounds may clog presses filter.

3. Pour in hot water. NOT boiling. Boiling burns the coffee, leaves a bad taste & could damage the glass.

4. Stir a few times to mix water & grounds throughly. PLASTIC spoon only. Carelessly clanking a metal spoon around inside could scratch or crack the press after repeated uses.

5. Put lid on & rotate to lock. DO NOT press plunger down just yet.

6. Let sit about 4 minutes for wonderful flavor.

7. Press plunger down slowly. Do not slam down, hot coffee may splurt out.

8. Pour into cup, kick back & enjoy.
How much coffee shall I use to how much water. If I want to make three cups, what is the ratio of coffee to water?
A shopper on Aug 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: For details check YouTube for users making coffee. Note that if you use fine grind it will be more like Turkish as this uses a screen.
From the Bodum website:
Instructions for Use
1 Place pot on a dry, flat, non-slip surface.
Hold handle firmly. Turn the lid counter
clockwise to unlock, then pull the plunger unit
straight up and out of the pot.
2 For each cup (1.25 dl or 4 oz), put 1 rounded
tbsp or 1 BODUM® scoop of coarse ground
coffee into the pot. CAUTION: Use only coarse
ground coffee. Fine grind can clog the filter
and create high pressure. Place coffee maker
on a heat proof, non-slip surface.
3 Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot.
Leave a minimum of 2,5 cm/1 inch of space
at the top. Stir the brew with a plastic spoon.
CAUTION: Metal spoons can scratch or chip
the glass beaker and cause breakage.
4 Place the plunger unit on top of the press.
Turn the lid clockwise to gently snap into the
lock. Do not press down.
Let the coffee brew for at least 4 min.
5 Hold the pot handle firmly with the spout
turned away from you, then using just the
weight of your hand, apply slight pressure on
top of the knob to lower the plunger straight
down into the pot. Lowering the plunger slowly
with minimal pressure produces best results.
If the filter clogs or it becomes difficult to
push down the plunger you should remove
the plunger from the pot, stir the brew and
then slowly plunge again. WARNING: Using
excessive force can cause scalding liquid
to shoot out of the pot.
6 Assure lid is in locked position before
pouring. Press the lever on the locking lid to
open the spout and then pour the coffee.
7 Cleaning – Unscrew the filter assembly
and clean the plunger unit after each use.
All parts are dishwasher safe.
What are options for keeping the coffee warm after I prepare it? Is there a warmer available?
A shopper on Feb 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I really don't know if there is a warmer for the french press. I usually wrap a dish towel around mine, it helps keep it warm for a bit.
Does it have plastic on underside of lid where coffee condenses?
A shopper on Dec 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes
Can you use it for tea?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Real tea not tea bags. haha
Hi all, I drink 3 6oz mugs of coffee in the morning. Do I need the 4 cup or 8 cup pot? Also, since I don't drink all 3 at once, what should I do with the coffee after it's been made before I drink it? I don't want it to get cold,... Or should I just make 1 cup at a time?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Based on your consumption rate, it appears the 4-cup version would be your best alternative. We find that the coffee stays hot for a fair amount of time after it’s been brewed. If it’s a little cold, we reheat it in the microwave with no loss of flavor.
