I'll never go back to rolling pins with handles
I've used a rolling pin with handles for years and just switched to this one about a month ago. It's so easy to roll out pizza and pastry dough, then roll it onto the pin and transfer it to the baking dish. This is a great product

Easy to use!
This rolling pin did take a bit of getting used to, but now I find that I have more control than with traditional pins

Best rolling pin!
In over two decades, I've owned several types of rolling pins. This one is the best one, so far! More control and I love the quality of this product. Easier to use when it comes to rolling out chilled cookie dough or pie crusts

Unique and I like it!
Like the one tapered side as I am not accustomed to using it, but whats with the hole? Doesn't hang on a pot rack hook... no string included... Still works fine! and USA made

Good Pin for a Practiced Roller
I have used this rolling pin enough to become at least not too bad at using it. I think that in the hands of an experienced roller it would be outstanding. So the shortcoming is my own and not with the rolling pin. However, if you are a fairly novice rolling pin user, be aware that it can produce somewhat uneven work. Again, I am sure that this would not be the case with a set of skilled hands working with it.

I want to improve my pie crust skills, and I've read that using tapered pin as you begin to roll out the dough gives more control over the process.

Is this symmetrical?

Are the ends symmetrical? It is hard to tell from the image.
A shopper on Dec 1, 2012
BEST ANSWER: The ends are symmetrical. Each end has a 1"" diameter
Should you oil the wood?
PJ R on Apr 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I make a blend of walnut oil and beeswax for my wood cutting boards, and kitchen tool handles. Just heat some beeswax and walnut oil in a jar with the microwave. Rub the mix into the wood, buff. Walnut oil doesn't get rancid. I use pure beeswax only, if the cutting board is for someone with a nut allergy.
Is the "center length" straight, before it tapers towards the ends? How long is the "straight" center length before it tapers on the ends?
Jorge D on Dec 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The straight center is about 11" long.
how heavy?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Enough to get the job done but not as heavy as a typical rolling pin with the metal inside that the handles spin on. This one just has tapered handles on the ends to make it easier to roll. Love it!
