Description
SPECIAL VALUE
Handcrafted by expert artisans in Seki City, Japan. Shun Premier paring knife features a core of proprietary VG-MAX super steel clad on both sides with 34 layers of Damascus stainless steel. All knives are hammered by hand with a technique known as tsuchime to a beautiful finish that reduces drag when cutting, preventing food from sticking to the blade. Ultra-thin blade edges retain a lasting and razor-sharp edge for precision on the cutting board.

Quality Knife
This knife is so awesome it gets me excited about cooking because I know I get to use it. This was my first purchase after reading ""Knives Cooks Love"" and the first piece to my new quality knife collection. It is not feather lite like I thought it would be after reading about it online and in the book. It feels sturdy in your hand and the handle is contoured so that it feels like it was made for your hand weather you are chopping with it or peeling. My hands are on the small side, but I found that this can be used to chop small things like garlic and the offset of the blade is enough to keep my knuckles off the board. It is a steal at the sale price, highly recommended

The Deal of the Year
I have large hands, this knife is very comfortable. The blade is amazing in design and has a Very sharp edge. At this price it is a steal. If you have shun classic knives as I do, don't think ever knife has to match in design. I buy knives for form, fit and function

The perfect knife to pare with ... an 8” Shun
This knife was a gift for my husband. It is a needed companion knife to his 8”Shun. Now he wants a case to take them with him when we go to his mother’s house. Her knives don't cut it. :)

Too delicate for actual use
The blade, especially at the tip is so thin that it will bend if you look at it. The one I returned had a rough edge on the top couple of inches. The blade will not hold an edge and I have owned many Seki steel knives. The soligen steel blades are much superior.
