Why do 3 star chefs use Staub?
There's a reason chefs like Alan Ducasse, Joel Robuchon, Paul Bocuse, etc. use Staub. Looks great and cooks wonderfully. The matte black enamel interior browns beautifully, and the lid helps keep the dish moist while cooking.
To use the cocotte to best advantage, be sure to preheat it, I typically preheat about 8min.
Much of the flavor of the dish comes from the browning and Staub excels at this

I really love my Staub cocotte. I ordered the marin-blue, but I had to return it to the store as there was a flaw in the enamel. The blue is a beautiful color, and I almost got the same color, but due to how dark it is and the high gloss finish finger prints were very easy to see, so I decided to exchange it for the graphite (grey). Being cast iron, and particularly with the lid on, the pot is heavy, so that should be kept in mind particularly if purchasing it as a gift.

Great design
Did a bit of research before replacing a competitors enameled pot that broke. I already love my other Staub pieces and this pot exceeds expectations with great design and function.

Does the stated height include the height of the knob? I need to know if the 4-qt size will fit in my toaster oven (the Breville Smart Oven Pro).
BEST ANSWER: Good afternoon,
My Staub Round Cocotte 4qt measures at 160mm or 6.25 inches in height from the base to the top of the polished knob.
Hope this helps and best regards,
Jacob

How much does the 7qt coquette weigh?
BEST ANSWER: I weighed it on a digital food scale. It's 11 pounds for pot and lid. Yes it is heavy, but it cooks food well, is easy to clean, and I love it. I have a medium-sized countertop convection oven and I can fit in just fine. The only problem has been that if it is heavily filled, it bends the oven rack.

Is this Staub cocotte "marin blue," "sapphire blue," "dark blue"? I'd like to match an existing marin blue item, but I'm afraid that color might be discontinued.
