Love these!
I have had three of these for many years and absolutely love them. I mostly use them for cookies and muffins. Everything comes out cleanly and evenly. They are tools any baker should have in their kitchen.

The Best Scoops Ever!!
These high quality scoops are the best!! They're perfect for measuring cupcake batter and cookie dough. The cookie dough doesn't get stuck in the scoop even when it's cold and firm, you get the perfect size every time. Once you use these scoops you'll be hooked too and they're dishwasher safe, what could be better :

I recieved this for my bridal shower and absolutley love it! I love using it to scoop cookie dough! It scoops the perfect amount each time! Love it & highly suggest you just buy it!
May 16, 2011
I bought the smallest of these for cookies, and it's fantastic. I've also used it for mini muffins, and it was perfect as far as actually clearing the entire scoop of batter and the mechanism is sturdier and smoother to use than any others I tested, including Oxo.

Great Scoops
I love these scoops and have them in three different sizes. Although, I don't actually use them for ice cream. I use these to scoop the perfect amount of muffin/cupcake batter in to my tins, scoop out cookies, etc. They are a wonderful purchase and I recommend anyone who bakes a lot to buy these as they will make your life easier

Never making cookies without this again!
I never thought to get a cookie scoop for myself because I didn't think it was that hard to make cookies by hand. However, I got one of these as a wedding gift and I LOVE it. It makes the cookies uniform and it's really easy to scoop the dough and release the dough. It keeps my fingers clean and it's easy to clean as well. You should definitely get one!

How do I convert the size listed to the US standard size of tablespoon to cup?

These are the best scoops ever!! Please list each scoop with the US standard size ie. 1.18=1 tbsp, etc. This would be really helpful. Thank you so much for your assistance
A shopper on Jul 25, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The sizes are as follows:
1.18"=1/2 TBSP 1.38"=1 TBSP 1.89"=2 TBSP 1.97"=2.75 TBSP 2.20"=4 TBSP 2.48"=5.25 TBSP
How many inches wide?

My recipe calls for a 2"" ice cream scoop - which one of these should I select
A shopper on Dec 9, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I'm not sure about the others, but I have a 30 and it is 2"" across. Hope this helps
When using them to portion out cupcakes, what size should I use
A shopper on Apr 21, 2011
BEST ANSWER: I use the 2.75 oz and works out perfect everytime! It provides enough batter for the cupcake to rise just above the pan for a nice round top for frosting.
Oz to tablespoons

Can you do a similar conversion for oz to tablespoons? I see the one that shows inches to tablespoons, but the measurements don't seem to match up with what I would expect. I'm wondering if the sizes changed or if I'm using the wrong conversion
A shopper on Apr 7, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Below is a conversion chart in the order these scoops appear on the website:.5 US fluid ounces = 1 US tablespoon1.25 US fluid ounces = 2.5 US tablespoons1.75 US fluid ounces = 3.5 US tablespoons2.75 US fluid ounces = 5.5 US tablespoons3.25 US fluid ounces = 6.5 US tablespoons(3/8) US fluid ounce = 0.75 US tablespoon
How can I correlate the scoop number with volume?

The spring loaded stainless steel ice cream scoops come in different sizes. When using them to portion out cookies, what size number holds one tablespoon
A shopper on Jan 19, 2011
BEST ANSWER: The smallest spoon would be the one you needed. It is 1.18"" in diameter and holds approximately 1 tablespoon
What are scoop numbers for different sizes?

I purchased 2 different sized scoops in the store. I'd like to purchase some other sizes online since the last time I was in the store they didn't have any at all. I have #30 and #16.
A shopper on Feb 5, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The 3/8 oz scoop is #100.The .5 oz scoop is #70.The 1.25 oz scoop is #30.The 1.75 oz scoop is #24.The 2.75 oz scoop is #16.The 3.25 oz scoop is #12
Who Manufactures The Scoops?

Who Manufactures The Scoops? I'm looking for ones made by Fantes. Thanks
A shopper on Jan 20, 2011
BEST ANSWER: I'm trying to find a brand to go with what I currently have, made in Germany. The handles are solid, not shaped flat metal.
I have #30 and #70 scoops - I need one sized in between - is there such a scoop?

what is the material?
A shopper on Apr 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are the best made scoops you can find and are in fact made with stainless steel.
Which size did you get for cupcakes/muffins?
Deborah B on Nov 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Sorry, I wish that I could help you. But I have three different sized scoops to cover my baking portioning. The other factor is how much you load in the scoop. That is partial, level or overfill. So a small (1/2 oz) and a medium (1.25oz) work for us. Depending on your muffin tin and muffin top requirements, maybe the larger one (3.25oz)? You might check by measuring your preferred portion in a measuring cup with oz marks? The 1.25oz scoop holds 1.25oz of water.
Where are these scoops made?
A shopper on Aug 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are made in China.
Okay... the conversions below are not up to date i think. The scoops are now labeled by oz. Can you tell me which one is best for muffin tins and which on is best for cookies according to the oz size they are sold in? Thank you
L G on Jul 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I ordered the following:

Stainless Steel Spring-Loaded Scoop, 2¾ oz.
Stainless Steel Spring-Loaded Scoop, 1¾ oz.

I use the small one for cookies (1.75 oz) and the larger one for muffins. Seems that they changed the sizes. So if you want one for muffins - i would suggest the 3.25.

BTW- I LOVE LOVE LOVE these scoopers.
I bought scoops previously they were marked #16 and were of very good quality however what would like to know is what size is it equivalent to 3.25oz or is it 3\8oz?
A shopper on Oct 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: My scoop is not marked (and i’ve forgotten what size I bought from Sur La Table), however it is approximately 2-1/2” across and holds 1-5/8 oz of water (45 grams).
I have assumed you were asking about water weight; other foodstuffs would have a wide range of unit weight.
Which size should I use for standard cupcakes/muffins?
A shopper on Aug 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I use the scoop that holds 3 tablespoons which I believe is the 3.25 ounce.
What is most common size for ice cream scoop?
maria c on Jul 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The 2.75 ounce or 3.25 ounce can be used as ice cream scoops but I would not recommend it. They are quite large and require a lot of force to use on hard ice cream. Use a one piece scoop they use in ice cream shops. These scoops are best used food measurement, such as baking and serving. I love them and use them all the time. I hope this helps you.
what size is for muffins?
A shopper on Nov 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: For mini muffins I use a scoop that's about an inch across and for regular muffins I used the one that's about two inches across. I don't know what their capacity is in ounces, but the store could probably tell you. Hope this helps.
I need a scoop for portion control of either 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup (I am diabetic). Which (if any) of these sizes will provide that? Or are there releasing scoops that do?
A shopper on May 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Based on the volume specifications for 1/2 cup (=4 oz) or 1/4 cup (=2 oz), none of the stainless steel ice cream scoops sold by Sur la Table are appropriate for exact measure. You would be better served purchasing an extra set of measuring cups to portion control your food. Although these ice cream scoops are of very good construction (I have 3 different sizes), measuring cups would be a much less expensive (and easier to clean) option in my opinion.
What is the standard measuring spoon size of Sur La Table Ice Scoop SS #100/SKU # 698407?
D M on Nov 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: If it's the one in the picture sent, it's about a tablespoon. If doing meatballs or cookies, do a heaping scoop. Hope this helps!
The two description photos are not the same item. Which one is it? The photo with the muffin tin shows a cheap light weight disher and the closeup with the white background shows a heavy solid disher. If you look closely at the gears you will see what I am talking about.
Sheri H on Nov 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These two pictures feature the same scoop, but in 2 different sizes.
I am looking for a mini scoop that is 1 1/8 inch inside edge to inside edge. It has to be this size for the bon bons I make. I have tried to order from other sites and they always send a 1 inch scoop which is too small even though it says 1 1/8 in description. . Can you tell me what size to order.? Thank you
A shopper on Sep 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm sad to say I can't help you this was a gift purchase.
