Perfect for scrubbing my cast iron grill pan
I've been on a quest for a well-made non-plastic pot brush with sturdy bristles, whose design allows direct downward pressure. This is it!
This brush is sturdy, nice-looking, and feels generous in size: about 3"" from the top to the end of the bristles (the wood part itself is 2.25""). For me, the wood and natural bristles are a major advantage over plastic, for reasons of health, durability, and basic aesthetics. I want to emphasize that the bristles are very very stiff, though I suspect they may soften up over time. I'll be using this only as a heavy-duty scrubber for cooked-on-crud (I have a softer-bristled pot brush for general use).
I've only had this brush a week or so, but I'm already using it daily to scrub my cast iron grill pan, which has deep grooves/ridges in the bottom. My other pot brush is too soft to adequately scrub the grooves. So far so good! If this brush lasts for a few months, I'll come back and buy more

A little disappointed.
Purchased four brushes, and within a week of using one, the wood handle is splitting. I really like the brush, otherwise. But, I expect to see more splitting as time goes on.

How do you store this brush? E.g. bristle side down on the countertop beside the sink? I'm afraid of damaging the bristles by letting them stay wet.
BEST ANSWER: Hi there. The bristles are fairly firm (like an old-style floor scrubbing brush), and don't really damage with water so should be OK if they're left to mostly dry out between uses (eg, between one night's dinner and the next). If you're unsure, you could lie the brush down on its side, inside a cupboard, for a week or two. After you use it, rinse it with clean water to get any remaining food off. I would store the brush standing on its bristles on a dish or slotted drip-tray inside a cupboard to keep flies, insects etc off it. Leaving it on the counter (although it looks really great) leaves it open to insects and airborne dust etc. But if you don't have a problem with these - go ahead, put it on display! Good luck.

Will this brush take off/ remove the seasoning of a cast iron skillet?
BEST ANSWER: I haven't used it for that, but if I was required to take a risk on it, I would. Just be gentle to start with and see how it goes. Cast iron is known for its resilience, so I'd definitely try it.

Is this brush safe for non stick cookware?
BEST ANSWER: Not sure, I'm avoiding all non-stick wear for health concerns. I prefer metals that are naturally found in the human body. Can't beat cast iron.
