Didn't last one week
My brush is 5 days old and the bristles are all falling out. I started to notice lots of bristles in my dish water. In examining the brush there are several holes in the wood that have lost all the bristles.

Knife cleaner
I don't put my knives in the dishwasher but am afraid of slicing my fingers during the cleaning process. In comes my long handled dish brush. The blades are cleaned and my digits are safe. Each knife is safely cleaned individually. The handle is nice and long and the bristles just the right amount of stiffness. Great for pots and pans too.

Handy
I had one that my mother-in-law gave me. Loved it so I needed more. The handle holds up well and so do the bristles. The original brush has been in use for at least 5 years. Durable.

Best One Out There Like This.
Great brush. I previously bought the lower cost competitors brush but the bristles flattened out pretty fast.
You may lose a few at the beginning but it really doesn't affect the usage because there are so many. I use this for washing dishes.

So far, so good.....
Very nice quality. Love the little 'hook' on the end that allows me to hang it to drip dry. I use this every day and so far I'm happy. Prefer to have a brush with a handle so I don't have to scorch my hands with hot water and detergent all the time. Does a good job of cleaning just about everything that I hand wash. Will not be putting into the dishwasher of course given it is not material compatible. I just rinse it with very hot water each time and let it hang. Hoping this will last as the reviews said. It is quality made, so I expect it will.

Love so many things about these brushes!
1. NO plastic, only environmentally friendly wood & bristles
2. Replaceable heads, old heads can be composted
3. Prettier/more vintage-y aesthetic than plastic scrubbers
4. Long handles keep hands away from mess, water & sharp blades
5. Make great add-ons to holiday gifts :)

I clean my lodge pan with this brush. The bristle doesn't melt like other plastic ones and also I can just rotate the brush head when the bristles get distorted.
Soochung L on Aug 3, 2016
These brushes are hard to find. I prefer the natural bristles and wooden handle over the plastic handles and nylon bristles.

Does the Redecker have a sponge

I believe I saw a Redecker with a sponge or round plastic end piece. The type used for scrubbing dishes, on the same handle. If you know

This brush only has the hard bristles there is no sponge or round plastic end piece.
How long do the brush heads last or how often should they be replaced?
Molly S on Feb 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I never really paid attention to how long they last. I've bought them in the past and use them until they literally fall apart. I've had this one now going on 8 months, I always shake the food particles and excess water out when I finish using them, and never leave them lying in water. If you take care of them they will last a while. I'm sure you can buy longer lasting plastic ones, but I prefer these because they look more "vintage" to me, oh and of course they work great!
What are the natural bristles made out of?
Vicky J on Dec 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: According to the Bürstenhaus Redecker catalog, the bristles are horsehair.
