An instant favorite!
This is an incredibly versatile and useful pot. I love cookware that serves multiple functions and this one does just that. I use this pot to cook soups, stews, beans, lentils, rice, risotto, edamame, pasta sauce, quick vegetable stocks, and blanched veggies. I use this pot so much that it doesn't even go into a cabinet. I just leave it on the cook top after cleaning it.
I'm a vegan so no meat goes into my pot which means I don't need a big pot. I got the 3.5 qt. pot and it is the perfect size for how I cook. The larger handles of the Signature line are a huge improvement over the old Le Creuset models. The indigo blue color is gorgeous. This pot looks every bit as good as it cooks.

Love it!!
I've been wanting one of these for years, and finally decided to get one. I've used it for so many things. It is so pretty, I keep it on the stovetop instead of hiding it in the cabinet. Very versatile! Best purchase of the year!!

Versatile and lasts forever
I have owned a 4.5-qt Le Creuset French oven since 1998. It has never stained in the interior, and anything that has stuck inside was removed with some soaking and rubbing with a scouring pad. My pot looks a little stained on the exterior where things have sloshed over (e.g., Mexican chilies are notorious for staining), and a little of the enamel has gradually worn off where the pot sits on top of the burner. But on the whole, my pot looks just as good as when I got it 19 years ago, and it still works brilliantly for cooking stews and one-pot dishes. I highly recommend it.

I burnt my Dutch oven while cooking on stove top. How do I safely remove burnt residue? And how do I check that I have not ruined the temper if the pan?
BEST ANSWER: I would need more specifics to best help. Is burnt residue inside of oven? or outside? company recommends using low or medium heat as highest setting on stove top. If stained from burnt food, company recommends filling pot with one part enzyme laundry detergent and three parts water. Boil for 10 minutes, let cool and discard solution. Wash pot with regular dish detergent rinse, and then dry. to restore pots sheen, apply light coat of white vinegar. Hope this helps.

I recenty received an oval dutch oven. the number on the lid is 29 Is it a 5 qt? or 6.5?
I have a question: I want to make Ina Garten's pot roast and she mentions she uses the large dutch oven; does she use the dutch oven bigger than 9 quart? Does La Crueset come bigger than 9 quart? Her cook book does not mention the size, just she uses the big one. Does anyone know what size she uses----I know its the round one and I have the 9 quart---I think. I will look under the lid for the number 30.
BEST ANSWER: She has a video of making the pot roast on the Food Network. I believe that she's using a 9 Qt. Dutch oven, so you should be fine. Mine is a 7 1/4 qt. size. With all of the other ingredients, I think it would be a tight squeeze in the 7 1/4 qt. pot. All of Ina's recipes are delicious. Good luck!

Do I need to be concerned about scratching the interior when using utensils? Am right now eating a "skillet breakfast" from a skillet/lid!! Wonderful way to keep a meal warm while eating it!
BEST ANSWER: Don't use metal utensils.
Le Crueset will intend to sell you silicon with wood handles; these are pricey and not necessary but you must use some sort of silicon or Teflon or nylon or wood. Metal will mar the finish of the enamel.
