Gold Medal Smoothie

Makes 3 cups
Ingredients
  • 1 banana, peeled
  • ½ cup diced cantaloupe
  • ¼ cup chopped carrots
  • ¼ cup orange segments
  • ¼ lemon, peeled, seeded
  • 2 tablespoons honey or other sweetener, to taste
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)


Procedure
Make it first over the finish line with this smoothie created expressly to keep you energized and alert. Recipe is for the Vitamix® 5200 blender with standard 64 oz container. If you use a different Vitamix, you may need to make adjustments to the Variable speed, processing time or the quantity of ingredients.

Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid. Select Variable 1. Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High. Blend for 1 minute or until desired consistency is reached. Serve immediately.
