Martini
Serves
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients
  • 2-½ ounce gin
  • ½ dry vermouth
  • 2 olives for garnish

Procedure
This most iconic cocktail actually has fairly unknown roots. And over the years, its taste has changed dramatically—from a sweet, vermouth-based drink to the dry, gin-centric one we sip today.

Build ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir thoroughly and strain into a chilled coupe or cocktail glass. Garnish with two olives or a twist of lemon.
