New York Steaks with Tom Douglas Steak Rub
Ingredients
  • 3 (1-inch thick) NY steaks
  • 6 tablespoons of Chef Tom Douglas’ Rub with Love Steak Rub
  • 2 tablespoons rice oil (or canola oil)

Procedure
Sprinkle both sides of steak with Steak Rub and let rest for at least 5 minutes. Heat your pan to Med/High heat and add rice oil.

Cook forming a delicious golden brown crust on steak and turn to finish, about 5 minutes. Flip the steaks and place entire pan in a 350°F oven. Pull the pan from the oven and using a digital thermometer, verify desired doneness. Always let your steak rest before slicing. Suggested temperatures: Rare – 120°F, Med Rare – 125°F, Medium – 130°F
