Classic Mashed Potatoes

Serves: Makes 4 to 8 servings

Ingredients:

  • 5 to 8 potatoes
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste


Procedures:

This recipe was designed for use with the Instant Pot.

Place washed potatoes in the Instant Pot, pour on the water and sprinkle with salt.

Close and lock the lid. Press Manual and adjust time to 20 minutes pressure cooking.

When time is up, open the Instant Pot using quick release.

Transfer the potatoes to a mixing bowl, reserving the cooking water, and remove the potato skins while they are still hot.

Add 2 tablespoons of the cooking liquid and two of cream. Begin mashing with a potato masher.

Continue adding small quantities of the cream and cooking liquid until desired consistency is reached.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve and enjoy!
