The Le Creuset company was founded in Fresnoy-le-Grand, France: the debut of its first flame-colored cast iron cocotte was in 1925. From then on, it has become a mainstay in kitchens around the world and a true household name. Four generations later, the company still crafts its cast iron cookware in its Fresnoy-le-Grand foundry using hand-finished, sand-casting methods.
