Cancellation Policy

Thank you for registering to attend a Sur La Table culinary class. We understand that sometimes class cancellations are necessary, and this policy describes what happens in the event of a cancellation. For cancellations made up to 48 hours before the schedule start time of a class, Sur La Table will refund your class fee in full back to the original form of payment (or, if you prefer, issue you a refund in the form of a Sur La Table gift card). For cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start of a class, we are not able to offer any refunds or in-store credit. Cancellations or changes can be made (1) in person in at the location of the culinary class or (2) through our toll-free number during normal business hours, by calling 800-243-0852 and speaking directly to a Sur La Table representative. We cannot accept or honor cancellations made by email or left on voicemail. When we cancel a class due to inclement weather, or other circumstances beyond our control (e.g., power outages, facility issues, etc.), we will endeavor to contact you by email or telephone with as much notice as possible and issue a full refund to the original form of payment (or, if you prefer, issue you a refund in the form of a Sur La Table gift card). However, if we do not affirmatively cancel a class by email or telephone and you are unable to attend, our standard cancellation policy applies. Please note that Sur La Table reserves the right to modify class menus at any time due to ingredient availability or seasonality.

What you will learn
Part 1: Preferments-Building a Starter Lecture and Demo - Classic Baguette – Shaved Garlic and Herb Focaccia
Part 2: Sourdough Baguette - Sourdough English Muffins - Sweet and Savory Sourdough Scones

Class Description: If you love the amazing flavor of sourdough bread but think you could never make it at home, this two-part workshop will change your mind. We’ll introduce you to baking terminology and walk you through the process of creating your own bakery-style sourdough breads.

Part 1: Our instructor will begin with a short lecture on building a starter and show you the surprisingly simple steps for creating and maintaining your own. Then you’ll work alongside classmates as you practice making two classic yeasted breads.

Part 2: In our second session, our instructor will show you how to incorporate your starter into a variety of breads, from a classic baguette to some of the best scones you’ve ever tasted. Once you master a few essentials, you’ll look forward to impressing family and friends with your own artisan sourdough creations.

*Please Note:Class only available as a two-part series. No single day enrollments. Class will run about 3 hours each session.
