Cancellation Policy

Thank you for registering to attend a Sur La Table culinary class. We understand that sometimes class cancellations are necessary, and this policy describes what happens in the event of a cancellation. For cancellations made up to 48 hours before the schedule start time of a class, Sur La Table will refund your class fee in full back to the original form of payment (or, if you prefer, issue you a refund in the form of a Sur La Table gift card). For cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start of a class, we are not able to offer any refunds or in-store credit. Cancellations or changes can be made (1) in person in at the location of the culinary class or (2) through our toll-free number during normal business hours, by calling 800-243-0852 and speaking directly to a Sur La Table representative. We cannot accept or honor cancellations made by email or left on voicemail. When we cancel a class due to inclement weather, or other circumstances beyond our control (e.g., power outages, facility issues, etc.), we will endeavor to contact you by email or telephone with as much notice as possible and issue a full refund to the original form of payment (or, if you prefer, issue you a refund in the form of a Sur La Table gift card). However, if we do not affirmatively cancel a class by email or telephone and you are unable to attend, our standard cancellation policy applies. Please note that Sur La Table reserves the right to modify class menus at any time due to ingredient availability or seasonality.

What you will learn
"Play with your food,” said no parent ever. Until now! For fthree fun-filled days, your favorite kitchen helper will get plenty of hands-on practice—from making and filling chocolate and hazelnut filled bomboloni to crafting homemade tamales. We’ll cover essential techniques and basic knife skills, giving kids a great foundation for a lifetime of cooking. Classes run about two hours each and last for three consecutive days. Young chefs will enjoy generous samples of each delicious dish and take home a packet of recipes. Designed for ages 12 and older, this series will make your teen more competent and confident in the kitchen.

What To Expect: Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes your child works together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

  • Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above
  • Your child will work with other students in groups of 4
  • Hands-on classes are limited to 16 students
  • Students will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
  • Please have children wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
  • Your child will enjoy a generous taste of every dish
  • All class participants receive a coupon good for 10% off in-store purchases good for the duration of the camp
Sur La Table recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please contact your local Cooking School before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.
