Additional Information
Made in Germany, this paring knife is excellent for precision cutting. Use it when peeling, scoring and dicing small ingredients or for in-the-hand cutting. The gently curved handle, crafted with Mediterranean holm oak, feels comfortable in hand and adds a beautifully warm appearance. Triple-riveted for stability, it boasts a full tang for impeccable geometry and perfect balance.
Mediterranean Holm Oak is not only beautiful—it is incredibly hard and strong. The Romans used this same wood to make wine casks, agricultural tools and wheels for their carts and carriages. The Pro Holm Oak collection by Zwilling J.A. Henckels combines their 280 years of knife-forging experience with the simplistic, yet innovative, design of renowned Italian architect Matteo Thun. An angled bolster helps you cut with enhanced precision, safety and comfort, and allows the entire length of the blade to be used for chopping, slicing, dicing and more. This unique feature also permits the entire length of the blade to be sharpened from bolster to tip. The artisan handles are made the old-fashioned way, on a machine dating back more than 100 years, and then finished by hand to ensure impeccable craftsmanship.
Using Zwilling’s exclusive Sigmaforge® process, knives are precision-forged from a single piece of Friodur® ice-hardened high-carbon German stainless steel, laser-cut for optimal blade angles and finally polished by hand. This results in a sharper blade with excellent edge retention and superior resilience.
