Color photographs were added in 1991 and the catalog grew into a multimillion-dollar

Surlatable.com was introduced in 1999. Today it carries thousands of items, and
features store events, recipes, gift registry, culinary program information and
more. The site was redesigned in 2006.
Cooking Class Program
Sur La Table’s cooking class program started in 1996. Today it is the largest nationwide,
avocational cooking class program in America. Most classes are hands-on and focus
on seasonal cuisine and technique-oriented courses; skill levels range from beginner
to advanced, with special courses devoted just to kids and teens. Private cooking
lessons are available in all programs.
Gift Registry
Launched in 1999, it is available to customers at all stores and online at surlatable.com.

Cookbook Program
Andrews McMeel Publishing, LLC (AMP) has acquired North American publishing rights
for the first three books in a series being introduced by Sur La Table. The Sur
La Table books will be the cornerstone of a new line of cookbooks being added to
the AMP program. The first, Things Cooks Love: Implements and Ingredients
by Marie Simmons with Sur La Table, will publish in spring 2008. The second, The
Art & Soul of Baking by Cindy Mushet with Sur La Table, will publish in
Fall 2008. The third, A Cook’s Guide to Knives by Sarah Jay with
Sur La Table, will publish in Fall 2008.
