What you will learn
Menu: Quick Cucumber Salad - Shanghai Red-Braised Pork with Eggs - Shanghai Stir-Fried Chunky Noodles - Hangzhou Eggplant with Minced Pork

Class Description: The lower Yangtze region of China with its modern capital Shanghai has been known since ancient times as a “Land of Fish and Rice.” For centuries, local cooks have used the plentiful produce of its rivers, fields and mountains, combined with delicious seasonings, to create a cuisine renowned for its amazing balance of flavors.

In this unique hands-on class, we’ll use the new Land of Fish and Rice cookbook as our guide and show you how to recreate a variety of authentic Chinese specialties. You’ll enjoy working alongside classmates, learning about traditional spices and ingredients and honing knife skills as we prep fresh produce. Plus, we’ll walk you through classic techniques for stir frying, braising, pickling, cooking noodles and much more. Best of all, you’ll go home with a free copy of this inspirational cookbook so you can easily recreate Chinese favorites for family and friends.

Class Bonus: Included with the class price is a copy of the Land of Fish and Rice cookbook (a $35.00 value).
