Class Description: Why cook with beer? Beer adds a rich, earthy flavor to sauces and braises that makes them taste like they've been simmering for hours. Beers with a sweet or nutty taste can add depth to desserts. Join us and La Jolla’s very own Fat Cat Brewery as we get up to speed on the basics of cooking with beer. Our instructor will walk you through the steps for braising tender short ribs, preparing succulent steamed mussels and the best brussels sprouts you've ever tasted. We'll show you how to amp up the flavor of your dishes with beer. Plus, you'll learn how to create an incredible ice cream featuring chocolate and rich dark stout. You heard us right, that’s beer for dessert

What To Expect: Great cooking isn't about recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef nstructors.
Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above
You will work with other students in groups of 4
Hands-on classes are limited to 16 students
You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
