What you will learn
This week, we’ll take your aspiring young chef on a culinary journey to faraway places and share the exotic flavors of an assortment of cuisines. We’ll travel the world making authentic dishes from Mexico, France, Japan, and Italy as teens sharpen their cooking skills and master culinary fundamentals.
For five fun-filled days, our experienced chef instructors will walk teens through kitchen essentials like basic knife skills, how to follow recipes, measuring, mixing, monitoring cooking temperatures and time—and perhaps most importantly—kitchen safety. Then, we’ll teach them a number of cooking methods, like sautéing, grilling, rolling sushi, making fresh pasta dough and soufflés, and much more as they prepare globally-inspired dishes selected especially for teen palates.
Classes last around two hours a day for five consecutive days. At the end of each class, teens will eat their creations. On the last day, students prepare a menu that they choose. Parents are encouraged to join us at the end of class that day to see how much students have learned. At the end of camp, teens will take home copies of all the recipes they made.
The skills learned in this class will show teens how much fun cooking can be and provide them with a foundation for a lifetime in the kitchen.
*Please Note: Classes are only available as a five-day series. No single day enrollments.
