Day 5: The Ultimate Mystery Box Team Challenge
Before we say goodbye, campers will have a chance to show off all their new cooking skills.
Working in teams of four, our young chefs will use a mystery box of ingredients to create their own unique menu.
What you will learn
In this fun, five-day series, kids and teens will practice essential kitchen skills and master the fundamentals of cooking. Young chefs will love working alongside classmates learning everything from grilling and roasting to braising and sautéing. Plus, they’ll discover how simple it can be to make homemade pasta, classic sauces and tasty baked treats.
We’ll get hands-on and cover the fundamental of cooking such as rules for handling knives, sauce making, baking ratios, making pasta from scratch and the importance of kitchen safety. Along the way, kids and teens will take notes as they learn to create a variety of delicious sweet and savory dishes. Then on day 5, budding chefs will apply all the principles and techniques they’ve learned in an exciting team cooking challenge.
Kids and teens ages 8-17 are welcome to join this popular culinary camp. Classes run about two hours each and last for five consecutive days. Each young chef will take home a packet of the recipes they make and a Sur La Table apron. Share your love of cooking by giving your child a foundation that will benefit them for a lifetime and an experience they’ll never forget.

What To Expect: Great cooking isn't about recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.
Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours
Students work in groups of 4
Classes are limited to 16 students
Students will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back

Sur La Table recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please check with your local Cooking School before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.
