Class Description: Get set for great summer grilling as we prepare recipes from the America’s Test Kitchen Master of the Grill cookbook. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to grill everything from steak and chicken to veggies and bread. Our instructor will walk you through the steps for stuffing chicken, making a Mediterranean salad, creating homemade sauces and much more. Once you discover how easy, versatile and fun grilling can be, you’ll look forward to showing off your skills at the next cookout.

Part field guide to grilling and barbecuing and part cookbook, Master of the Grill features a wide variety of foolproof recipes along with the best tools to use, food science, clever grill hacks, and shopping tips mixed in—everything you need to know to grill successfully. With more than 400 recipes, it includes just about anything you’d ever want to grill—from the juiciest burgers to sweet and tangy barbecued chicken to tender grill-smoked pork ribs. This is best collection of classic, contemporary, and regional grilling recipes, created and tested by the experts at America’s Test Kitchen.

Please Note: In most locations, local restrictions require we grill indoors.

What To Expect: Great cooking isn't about recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

  • Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above
  • You will work with other students in groups of 4
  • Hands-on classes are limited to 16 students
  • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
  • You will enjoy a generous taste of every dish
  • Students receive a coupon good for 10% off in-store purchases the day of class
Sur La Table recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please check with your local Cooking School before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.
