"The 10.5" is definitely 'oversized' (for one person) and more suited to use for multiple people, or as a fruit bowl, (smallish) punch bowl, etc. The caveat is that the 10.5" bowl I received, while seemingly very well made otherwise, has a slightly uneven bottom, which makes it rock somewhat from side to side, vs. sitting perfectly flat, which is pretty much a prerequisite for a bowl"
