Basil Limeade

For a 2-gallon beverage jar
Ingredients
- 1 gallon water
- 4 cups sugar
- 2 tablespoons lime zest
- 6 cups lime juice
- 3 ounces basil leaves
- Ice cubes
Procedure
Substitute lemons with lime juice and fresh, sweet basil for this invigorating twist on lemonade.
Stir water, sugar and zest in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture is hot. Add juice and basil and marinate mixture at least 2 hours or overnight. Adjust sugar or citrus to your preference. Strain into beverage jar, top with ice and lime slices, and serve.
