Brown Sugar Pepper Bacon

Brown Sugar Pepper Bacon

4 servings
Ingredients
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 ounces thick cut bacon
Procedure
Preheat oven to 400°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and top with a wire rack.

1. To a small bowl add the sugar and pepper, whisk until evenly combined and any lumps of sugar are broken up. Dip each slice of bacon into the sugar pepper mixture and press gently to adhere, flip and repeat process on second side.

2. Arrange the coated bacon on the wire rack and transfer to preheated oven. Cook until bacon is crispy and sugar has caramelized to a deep golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes.

3. Remove from oven and serve when cool enough to eat.
