Do you have to get a specific one if you are left handed?

The Global chef's knives I own (two different sizes) do not appear to be "handed". I have a lefty DIL who has the same Global chef's knife, sharing it with my right-handed son. Serrated knives for slicing (like bread knives) are typically serrated on the left side which works better for righties, so lefties may want to get that type of knife with the serrations on the right side to help keep the knife slicing straight through the loaf etc.
