Is the bottom glazed?

Nope, not glazed on the bottom. It is handcrafted porcelain, but made in China. That being said, I love this set of 3 and use them for many different purposes, and can highly recommend them (wish they were made in the USA though...).

Sur La Table Porcelain Platters, Set of 3

Q: What are porcelain platters best for?

Porcelain platters are a go-to for serving appetizers, desserts and everyday sides in a clean, simple presentation. The three sizes in this set make it easy to scale up for entertaining or keep it small for snacks and sweets.

Q: What comes in the Sur La Table porcelain platters set?

You will receive a set of 3 porcelain platters in three different sizes. That variety helps you choose the best platter for the food you are serving, from small bites to larger spreads.

Q: Are the porcelain platters dishwasher safe?

Yes, the porcelain platters are dishwasher safe for easy everyday cleanup. If you are stacking them in the dishwasher, give them a little space so they can wash and dry thoroughly.

Q: Can Sur La Table porcelain platters go in the oven, microwave and freezer?

Yes. Sur La Table porcelain platters are safe for the oven, microwave and freezer, so you can move from heating or reheating to serving, or chill items before guests arrive.

Q: How can I use the three sizes when serving?

Use the smallest platter for dips, sweets or a few hors d’oeuvres, the medium for appetizers or side dishes and the largest for a party-style spread. Serving on multiple platters also helps keep the table organized and makes it easier for guests to reach what they want.
