SEATTLE (11/11/10) - SUR LA TABLE ADDS ANOTHER LEAF TO ITS TABLE: Company Opens 25th Store in California. Seattle-based Sur La Table, the premier retailer for creative cooking and artful entertaining, will open its 25th California location on Friday, November 26, 2010.The second store Sur La Table opened was in Berkeley in 1995; California is the most concentrated state for the company. The company currently operates 80 stores and will end the year with 83. CEO Jack Schwefel comments, "Burlingame gives us the mid-peninsula store we've always wanted." More »

SEATTLE (11/5/10) - SUR LA TABLE DISHES UP NEW FLORIDA STORE IN AVENTURA: Features New Store Design Seattle-based Sur La Table, the premier retailer for creative cooking and artful entertaining, will open its sixth Florida location on Friday, December 10, 2010. Its first Florida space opened in 2005. Florida is the third most concentrated state for the company; store locations include Coconut Creek, Naples, Palm Beach Gardens, Pembroke Pines and Sarasota. More »

SEATTLE (11/5/10) -BIGGER IN TEXAS: Sur La Table Opens Seventh Store in Texas; Includes Cooking Class Program Seattle-based Sur La Table, the premier retailer for creative cooking and artful entertaining, will open a fourth store in the Houston area on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. The store will include a cooking class program. Its first Houston space opened in River Oaks Shopping Center in 1999 followed by Champions Forest Plaza and The Woodlands. CityCentre Houston marks the seventh store for Texas; it is the second most concentrated state for the company. Stores are also located in Austin, Dallas and Plano. More »

During the event Brown will sign copies of his new cookbook Good Eats 2: The Middle Years (Stewart, Tabori & Chang, $37.50). This is a ticketed event. Customers must purchase a copy of the new cookbook at Sur La Table’s SoHo location to obtain a ticket. A ticket does not guarantee a signed book. Its first NYC space opened in SoHo in 2005. A native New Yorker, CEO Jack Schwefel comments on the expansion, “New York is the most important city for us to have multiple locations. Our expansion here is long overdue. NYC has an amazing array of chefs and restaurants as well as sophisticated and educated customers. Our new Upper East Side location is in a great neighborhood and a logical next step for us. The new store will provide additional access for our existing and new customers.” More »

SEATTLE (8/19/10) - A MAGNET FOR COOKS: Sur La Table Opens Two New Locations in Greater Boston Region Seattle-based Sur La Table, the premier retailer for creative cooking and artful entertaining, will open two new stores in Massachusetts in September. Its Chestnut Hill location opened in 2003. Sur La Table’s CEO, Jack Schwefel, comments on the expansion, “Boston is the 4th largest market in the US – we are long overdue! Along with Chestnut Hill, these three locations allow us to talk to a large array of customers in New England.
