Yes. Our gift cards can be used for both online and in-store classes. Virtual gift cards arrive instantly and make great last-minute gifts.
Our online classes start at just $39 per household, so you can have friends and family in your kitchen at no additional cost.
Online classes are 1 ½ to 2 hours in length unless otherwise noted.
Online classes are given real-time via Zoom (classes are shown in Eastern Time). You’ll need to download your prep packet with an ingredient list beforehand, so you have time to assemble all the necessary tools and ingredients. Before class begins, you’ll need to have Zoom installed on your tablet or laptop (you can download it here). Set up your laptop or tablet in the kitchen for easy viewing while you cook. Every class is live, so you can ask your instructor questions as you go. At the end of the class, you’ll have a delicious meal to enjoy.

Please note: Class prices can vary by location due to regional cost variations.
Most in-store classes last between 2 to 2½ hours, allowing participants to learn and enjoy hands-on cooking. Specialty baking classes run up to 3 hours, while short format classes are just 1 hour. Please check each class description for exact duration details.
Our standard cooking classes last 2 to 2½ hours (unless otherwise noted) and offer hands-on instruction in small groups of up to four. You'll prepare the menu with guidance from our instructors, sample each dish, and receive all recipes. Classes are interactive, require full participation, and are capped at 16 people.
Short format classes focus on specific techniques, last 1 hour, and are held at specialty stations for up to 4 guests. No food is prepared or served during these sessions.
Most classes are 14+ and minors must attend with a paying adult. Some classes are 18+—see the class page for details.
Our in-store classes are hands-on and social, held in teaching kitchens designed for learning. You’ll be paired with other guests to form a group of four at a fully equipped shared workstation and cook alongside our chef instructors. Together, you’ll prepare the menu from start to finish, then enjoy the dishes family-style with your station group. Because we’re a cooking school focused on technique and education—not a restaurant—you’ll sample a generous portion of each dish rather than full entrée sizes.
Classes are active, so expect to stand for the entire session on hard-surface flooring; comfortable, closed-toe shoes are a must, and long hair should be tied back. You’ll also take home the recipes and simple “cook-again-at-home” instructions.
Sur La Table does not provide or serve alcohol at any public class or event. At select locations, we allow BYOB (beer and wine only) in accordance with local city and state ordinances. Where permitted, we’ll supply glassware and corkscrews, but our team cannot handle, pour, or serve any customer-provided alcohol.
Policies vary by location, so please contact your local store directly to confirm whether BYOB is allowed for your class.
