Guava Bars

Makes 16 bars
Ingredients
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 1½ cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup butter, frozen, grated
  • ¾ guava paste, sliced into 1 inch slabs
  • Sweetened condensed milk (optional)


Procedure
When the weather turns cold and you need a little boost of the Hawaiian Islands. Check out this incredible guava bar recipe!

Preheat your oven to 375°F. In a large bowl thoroughly mix the flour, sugar, salt, oats and butter. Line a 9X9 baking pan with parchment paper and place half of the oat mixture on top. Using the back of a water glass press the oat mixture evenly to form the bottom layer of your bars.

Next place your guava slabs on top, lining them next to each other. Top the guava with the remaining oat mixture, lightly pressing to form the top of the bars. Bake for 40 minutes and let rest for at least 15 minutes.

Cut into your desired shape and drizzle with sweetened condensed milk!
